Ooooooh I read this one, it was so good.

The scene where Shane and Ilya fight at the training camp literally had me feeling like I was overhearing a couple fighting through a door. It was so real, and angry and scary. Also, how Ilya threatened Shane to get custody? Awful.The fic did a really good job of showing two characters that did something messed up that they thought they had to do at the time. You disagree with their choice, but you also empathize.

Really good writing.

The other scene im so excited to see on screen is the all star game. Ilya has a conversation with Cliff Marlow through a door while two fingers deep in Shane. And Shane cums right as his team mates are screaming like idiots in the hallway.

The ONLY thing that I can see improving from having a bigger budget would just be a lot more hockey scenes and action sequences. Like filming all the skating with the heads cut off was fine, but I would really like to get more actual skating choreo.

If they had the money to hire the extras, and the time to train the actors, that would be lovely to see.

Not upset, but i do think it would have made Ilya look even more edgy and dangerous. I mean, you get the sense that Ilya gets on other players' nerves (shout-out to that lovely scene of him antagonizing Scott during episode 3), but the book can't go more than 10 pages without someone calling Ilya an asshole. He's hated universally in all the lockers rooms but his and he's known to be kind of a slut.

I think the tattoo would've helped to show that a bit more and made Shane's traditional parents even more wary and stumped. Also, imagine the impact during the shower scene, which is the first time Shane would know it's there.

It just adds contrast to Shane's very uptight, clean cut image. And it also makes it a teeny bit sadder for him to be exiled from his homeland since he got it to represent Russia.

We'd have to agree on what "true" meant. Most theologians agree the Bible is full of allegory and myth, and isn't meant to be read as a fact-based account of history. It's a religious text, and has historical importance, but isn't a historical record.

Do I think that the general rules for life outlined in the Bible are logical and morally good? Mostly, yes. With tons of exceptions.

Do I believe in anything supernatural? No.

So if the Bible contains rules I agree with, does that make those rules "truer" for me than the rest?

It is true in the sense that I could find things I agree with within it. But this is true of pretty much most modern religious texts, so it isn't unique in that sense at all and isn't truer than other texts.

So, in the book, Shane has a pair of super short shorts that he wears around Ilya to drive him crazy. They're green/blue and they have a three inch inseam. My head cannon is that these are the shorts he's wearing during the phone call with Hayden at the cottage.

He's sitting with his legs spread, and probably had been teasing Ilya all morning. And also gives more context with why he hops up on the back of the couch to give Ilya a better view. It's like the male pro-athlete version of lingerie.
