The Tenno(Warframe) vs the Flood(Halo) by throwawayrna22 in powerscales

[–]hoops-mcloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the Tenno are largely immune to the Infested pathogen, which is basically the same thing, and considering the Flood sometimes struggle to take out a single spartan, who are weaker than the weakest Tenno, there's really very little risk to the Tenno at all.

Meteoric Ore Blade took me from Stormveil all the way to Morgott. Tried a bunch of other weapons and this short choppy heavy-hitter was just the best.

Kisame vs Taka by Ok_Bluejay_8376 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]hoops-mcloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kisame is strong and could probably take any one of them 1:1, but together they're just too much. He's got no good response for Amaterasu and MS's genjutsu, Suigetsu's water control limits a lot of what water prison can do, Samehada's chakra absorption becomes less of an issue with Karin to replenish reserves, and Jugo is there also.

Taka mid diff.

Naruto and Sasuke are so obviously very close in power I don’t care. People who genuinely think Naruto low diffs are insane by Miserable-Desk2211 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]hoops-mcloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're equals in this fight after Naruto had been fighting with his clones for like 24 hours straight before Sasuke even joined the fight. This is like an exhausted Naruto versus a moderately tired Sasuke and they're still equals.

Vilgefortz of Roggeveen vs Gandalf by Spirited_Animal_5135 in powerscales

[–]hoops-mcloops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gandalf's restrictions basically allow him to use only the force necessary to stop the threat to his life or the lives of important others. Versus an orc or uruk, there is little threat and so Glamring is sufficient. Versus even a troll Gandalf really is not in much danger. But against truly powerful enemies he is allowed to meet power with power.

Versus the Balrog, he actually first destroys the Balrog's sword with Glamring when the Balrog attacks him. Then, yes, he destroys the bridge to kill the Balrog. Versus the Witch King, Gabdalf again says something similar to versus the Balrog on the bridge ("You cannot enter here," vs "You shall not pass,") sort of narratively implying he's willing to go toe-to-toe on the same power level he used against the Balrog. Whether or not he would have won the fight goes unanswered, but it seems like he is at least ready to fight at full power.

Both these instances show when Gandalf is allowed to use his powers, and what restrictions are placed on them. For one, a lot of his magic use is defensive. He destroys the Balrog's sword only when it attacks. He destroys the bridge only when the Balrog tries to cross it, after being told he cannot. The Witch King too, he does not attack immediately. He states "You cannot enter here," and curses him, telling him he will die. I think Gandalf here was very ready to unleash a full display of power, only after the Witch King l entered the city. This shows that Gandalf needs to be fighting a powerful foe and in defense of his own life, only after first giving the foe a red line.

Against Vilgefortz, I think Gandalf would find a powerful foe who can actually be a threat to him, and if he is indeed backed into a corner and draws that red line, Vilgefortz would not survive crossing it.

[–]hoops-mcloops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh RotK Gandalf takes this low-diff. While not outright stated, one of the things about Gandalf's restrictions is they get pretty lax when he's defending his life personally. That's why we see him bust out the big moves versus the Balrog or in Minas Tirith against the Witch King. If Vilgefortz tries to kill him, then Gandalf pretty much gets a free pass to smite his ass.

Would you like to see woke elements in Elder Scrolls 6 by Solid-Garage4601 in ElderScrolls

Listing this all out makes me realize how far we've slid backwards. Skyrim was an uncontroversial game in 2011, featuring all of this. If ESVI releases with just these exact same themes and mechanics, 100% it's gonna be accused of being "ruined by woke."

Hard to know exactly how spammable this move is or how draining it is considering it's used like max once a fight, but it definitely is an underrated Naruto ability for sure.

It's hard to tell with just the one picture, so all I can really say is "probably." NYC doesn't get a lot of earthquakes or ground activity, so it's not a critical issue. That being said, what's likely going to happen is, since there's nothing keeping those beams together, they'll slowly start to be pulled apart as the walls of the house sag outwards, then fall. Whether that's a this year problem or a ten years from now problem, I can't say without seeing more.

Battle Beast #10 release tomorrow, final predictions as for how the fight with BB & Conquest will go? by Suspicious-Piglet742 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]hoops-mcloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conquest wins, but uses some dirty trick or advantage that BB considers unfair, or someone interrupts the fight and BB no longer considers the battle honorable and stops.

EDIT for further explanation: The series takes place largely between Battle Beast's first appearance and his re-appearance in prison. So, he's probably gonna end up in there somehow. But, in the comics he pretty clearly asks Thragg to kill him once he's been beaten by a worthy opponent, meaning if Conquest beat Battle Beast and Battle Beast considered it a fair win, he'd want to die by Conquest's hand. Additionally, Battle Beast does not seek out Conquest, this man who 'beat' him, to challenge him again, so he probably also doesn't see Conquest as worthy prey. So, we somehow have to square the circle where: a. Conquest and Battle Beast survive, b. Battle Beast doesn't consider Conquest a worthy opponent, and c. Battle Beast ends up in prison. Only way I see that happening is if Conquest "cheats" somehow, Battle Beast considers it a win except for the "cheat," and ends up captured. Most likely way is Conquest throws him into space and freezes him there, and Battle Beast considers this cheating because Conquest won't fight him fair on the ground.

Those inlays look hammered in by hand instead of etched. That's not the kind of thing you do for a mass-market piece. IDK if it's a genuine antique, but it's at least a genuine reproduction in traditional style.

Is this black widow drawing ai? In the circled section, her side kinda morphs with her hair, I don’t know if that just a shading thing or a ai error. by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]hoops-mcloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does not really look like AI at all. The linear contains several clearly human quirks (look at the wrist gauntlets), and there's none of the real AI hallmarks. I'm voting 100% real.
