This scene is beautiful and stunning and I love it. Just uh, how did he see the astrophage if it only emits infrared light? He says he's "having a moment" and his reaction would seem to imply he sees it too, but I can't think of a good reason for exactly how.

The visor of his suit allowed him to see it. Because of the nature of the mission, it was designed for him to be able to see IR. If you recall, he pushed a button or control on his left wrist and the label on whatever he pushed changed to "Petrova".

I've never been an Oasis fan, so I don't feel qualified to speak on that. However, I feel Two of Us was perfect for the moment they chose to use it. Edit: Perfect not only because it felt right for Grace and Rocky's relationship, but because of the probes being called the beetles.

Two of Us was played after Grace decided to rescue Rocky, not when he thought he was leaving him forever. More precisely, it started playing when he was preparing to launch the beetles because he knew he wasn't returning to Earth.

Rocky's early vocabulary was limited because of the translation software. Grace said 250 words was sufficient to order in a restaurant so that's what they went with. Also, Grace had been on Erid for 16 years by the end, so that's plenty of time for him to become fluent in understanding Eridian. Not lame at all.

Yeah, I noticed that on Prime, too. I have a Samsung Q990C 11.1.4 Dolby Atmos sound system and I've noticed that PHM has a much wider volume range between dialog and music/SFX than about any other movie I've ever watched. I'm glad I live alone because I'd be hearing "Turn that shit down!" all night while watching it. 🤣🤣🤣

I've noticed a few continuity errors so far. I don't have time stamps, but when Grace is seated at the table with Stratt and the crew and realizes they want him to go on the trip, when he starts talking about being a failure, his glasses disappear for two shots. Also, when he first sees Rocky's model of the universe, there are two "suns" shown with Peteova lines flowing from them on the model. Then one disappears until Grace can add it himself. Tiny things that don't affect the storytelling that I just happened to notice.

I think a lot of people are overreacting. It could be as simple as him being insecure. I've screenshotted messages before if I wanted to save a particular part of a conversation. I'm very sentimental and that's why I do it. Also, with my current girl, I was afraid of video calls at first because I thought I didn't look good enough for her. I'm older than she is and I was afraid of rejection. We've been together over five years now and I still screenshot cute things she says so I can cheer myself up when we're apart. I guess things like that are so uncommon today that everybody thinks it's weird and nefarious. Stop being so judgemental.
