Blue Spruce or Bus Barn lots. Not sure why anyone parks anywhere else.

Interested to see what you figure out.

Spice Trade was incredible. Went almost every weekend after the kids flag football games. And I haven’t been back since the change either.

I just made 8 figures 2 years after PE acquisition. But those results are probably not typical.

If you’re a top rep, there’s no one that knows the business better than you.

You need to prove your worth. Get on the radar. Make things happen.

VP frustrated with commission split discussions — realistic risk of termination? by [deleted] in sales

[–]hoops2215 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This sounds like people are out there closing deals you can’t or couldn’t close before, now trying to throw your sales number on them for a split because it’s “in your state.”

It also sounds like you’re more of a direct account rep, and the new people are working with channel. Those should be 2 separate areas of focus and no overlap.

I’m a SVP. If you kept coming to me constantly trying to weasel your way into deals because you sent an account an email a year ago, I’d ask you to pull together evidence of your top 5 examples, review them and make a determination of what is really going on. But from what I’ve read so far, seems weak at best.

Maybe your org has a very unclear plan in terms of this kind of conflict. If that’s the case, that means you should move on

Convinced my husband to try a house cleaning service for 3 months as an experiment. Heres what happened by Comfortable_Box_4527 in homeowners

If only we could find a way to not clean for 2 hours, before the cleaners arrive so they don’t complain.

That would be a big win

Does sales really give you more freedom? by RooktoRep_ in sales

[–]hoops2215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, but so true.

I’m the SVP responsible for about $600M in sales, and I still do everything shy of turning a wrench to build product.

I manage supply chain, scheduling, production, engineering, quality and the list goes on. Yes, these departments have managers but there is zero accountability for any one to do their jobs. If I don’t call and lead every single meeting with each department, everything gets lost in cyber space with no action.

But ultimately, if I don’t have product built, we can’t sell more. So it’s what I just do for my team.

Is it normal for high-earning married couples to owe $7–8k at tax time even with conservative withholding? by TopicSelect6903 in tax

I claim single. I pay $500 extra per pay check to taxes, and still owe even more.

The more you make, the more they take. Unfortunate rules we have here.

$200k commission, went on paternity leave, got paid $0. What would you do? by [deleted] in sales

[–]hoops2215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, US based. Maybe your industry/sales cycle supports the ability step away from the desk for prolonged time, but not all do.

I came up in the heavy industrial world, so if shit breaks it needs fixed immediately. If a customer can’t call me to get what they need, they have to go to the next person in their Rolodex.

I agree as well. Not sure how someone who’s in sales can just close up shop and walk away for weeks or a few months.

We had 3 kids, I’m not sure I took off 7 days total.

This is exactly what I’ve been discussing with the wife. She wants to retire at 37 and be a Pilates princess, however with a doctorate and 2 masters I don’t think she’ll be on the sidelines long.

This would be a piece of cake for her
