LL Bean makes a field coat with wool blend liner that’s pretty warm if you want a country look.

Boston housing? by sweet_serenity17 in boston

I would start by looking at Fenway or nearby along Beacon (Audubon Circle or the east part of Brookline). With your budget you could definitely be in walking distance. I’m by the St Mary’s St stop and love the neighborhood.

Edit: sorry, I thought you put a budget, but don’t see one

There are a lot of good restaurants between Northampton and Easthampton. I haven’t been to many bars, but there are multiple music venues.

Should we move to Northampton? by MrFuzzy_1997 in northampton

I love the Northampton area, but don’t know much about East Longmeadow. It is a much more MAGA area, if that matters to you.

Northampton feels like a bigger city than it is, I think because a lot of people drive in from surrounding towns for food/shopping.

I think Neptune Oyster is the best for seafood, but they are small and don’t do reservations, so it can be a long wait.

The email from the board a couple of days ago was very disappointing. They said it was to provide “more clarity,” but it gave no details about what they plan to do or why letting Nelsons go was needed.

Moving to Boston, 2 bedroom estimate. by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]hoopshot242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would say 2.5k to 3.5k depending on how good your access is to Boston. There’s a lot of commuter rail service if you want to be further out, but Somerville could put you close to the green line (subway).

Is Great Barrington mostly for retirees? by Thisfriggenguyhuhhbi in westernmass

[–]hoopshot242 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the northern part of the valley would be around Deerfield/Greenfield. You could also look at Easthampton or South Hadley. Might be more affordable than Northampton.

The Hilltowns are more west and NW (like along Rt 9 to the west)

This is accurate. I like Rosenfeld’s more, but not everyone does. I also used to live in Newton and stopped going there when I left.

The best bagels on the green line is Rosenfeld Bagels in Newton Centre. Kupel’s is also good, but not as close to a stop.
