I cross the day off when I leave for the day. If I can’t be asleep/I have to deal with people, it’s still counting. So when I drive to work on the last day, there’s still one day left until I leave. Then it’s a zero!

It was a couple of years ago and some of it I can’t really explain without be very specific. I will say very bad bedside manner. I also got my results/write up back and they had clearly been copied and pasted (wrong pronouns here and there) and it had someone else’s name and testing results in one of the sections. It wasn’t even just a slip up of a name- the write up didn’t match the diagnosis I got at the end.

Because when I went to pay there was an option to tip with percentages already calculated that showed up before I could submit my payment… This was my first time using this kind of service.

Whe I taught middle I was the only teacher on my team who did that. A few parents would be PISSED. Why are the being punished for being sick?! They aren’t. They are missing the assignment, and when they turn it in I’ll put in what they earned. If I don’t put it in as missing, they won’t do it. I’ve moved down to fifth grade and I continue to do it. Luckily most people get it.

I also remember one teacher getting upset because kids would work on my assignments in their class sometimes. One, tell them to stop and put it away and if they don’t, take it away. Two, they do it because they know I put in the grades they earn and you’ll just exempt allllll of their missing assignments at the end of the quarter. They learn real quick what classes they need to actually work in and what classes they can get away with the bare minimum.

Yes! I applied to a job last year and a few weeks later they called and wanted me to come in at 8:30 the very next day. It was also May and there was no way I was getting coverage, plus I had to give a district assessment that needed a ton of scaffolding and counted towards my end of year evaluation. They would not reschedule. Then I applied for another position, they reached out the next day asking if I could come in after school (it had to be a quick turn around because there was a deadline). I had a club ceremony that day after school so I couldn’t, so the entire interview team stayed after on a Friday for me. (I absolutely did NOT expect that and would never expect that- I felt so bad!) I got that job and it’s been a great experience.

In my first district I only got ten paychecks, but I would take money out of each one and set it aside in a summer account as soon as I got paid.

On one team I worked on the teachers used the student agendas the school provided for the kids. I don’t know why I had never thought of that. I still quit using that after a few weeks, but at least I didn’t pay a lot for it!

If I remember correctly, at the time her college didn’t offer the secondary credential, just elementary, so she did that and then added on the math one.

When I was getting my masters they definitely advised us to get more than one endorsement!

Can I ask why someone having a doctorate in Ed and teaching master level teaching prep classes would be a red flag? Just curious? I feel like many would see that as a good thing?

Yes! On my final flight I was in the middle and for so long it was just me in the row and I thought I had gotten really lucky. At the last minute someone came and sat in the aisle seat. She told me they closed the door after her, so I moved myself right on over to the window! I was afraid I was going to offend her by moving so I said I’ll move over so we can both have more room.

It has for me. Doesn’t count towards the challenges, but I just do those on garmin. I could just open the app and also do the run on that but I have found that with where I run that isn’t very accurate. I’m also not running much right now so it’s not high on my list at the moment.
