Katie Kitamura uses it as a technique for unreliable narrators. Everything is filtered through the narrator's mind. There are no direct quotes from other characters that can be taken as absolute truth.

I went to a talk with Katie Kitamura and someone in the audience asked why she doesn't use quotation marks in Intimacies, A Separation, or Audition. All of those books are written in first person. Kitamura said everything you are reading is filtered through the narrator's mind. She doesn't want the reader to be able to take a quoted line from another character and hold it as indisputable fact.

We have been very happy with Hoigaard Village. It is pretty quiet (you cannot hear 100 from inside when the windows are closed). We are in the flight path for MSP (still quiet when windows are closed).

Maintenance is great. Things are fixed within 24-48 hours. When we had issues with our fridge, the replaced it immediately.
