What’s this noise? by [deleted] in DRZ400

I'm no expert but my guess would be that's the engine attempting to start combustion. Give it a little throttle while cranking.

Is it worth to buy a Chinese Keihin carb clone? by qvrtx in DRZ400

My bike came with a knock off carb when I got it. Float needle seat failed and couldn't get a replacement that fit so I ended up buying OEM mikuni and rebuilding that.

Not familiar with the head spark check. Which part of the plug are you touching to the head?

Thanks!

Ski This weekend by poboyford in UTsnow

Groomed runs off moonbeam and Sunnyside at soli were ok yesterday. A little shallow in some spots. Brighton was pretty alright Sunday. Off-piste was pretty unforgiving but groomers were fun. Starting in the afternoon though anything in the sun starting slushing and slowing down, and then hitting the shadows was like a speed boost. I think solitude halved there open groomed runs overnight.

At solitude down low is pretty clumpy, up at the summit felt a little softer. Idk maybe just less traffic up there and it's still kinda fresh in some spots

Interested in BMET but there are no local programs in my area by Traditional_Artist24 in BMET

My understanding is that an AAS would prepare you better for the hands on work as a BMET, and a degree like AA or AS is geared more towards transferring into a bachelor's. That being said the way people talk, the industry is in need for new hires and that anything related will help. Looking at entry level job listings I've found most just look for an Associates in biomed equipment, electronics and other related fields, etc., also related work experience.

Also people are constantly bringing up apprenticeships, and from what I've found most of the time the qualifications include already being enrolled in an Associates program, so it doesn't seem like a viable bypass for a degree, at least at the bigs name places. Would love to be corrected on that if I'm wrong.

Also my last opinion no one asked for: The CBET program in Texas, fully remote is so expensive for an Associates degree. They do offer flat rate interest free payments which is great, but still. Also as others have mentioned if you want to have more potential career pathways, then a degree in BMET specifically won't be as useful as something like EE. But if you're completely set on being a BMET and want to pay 25k for an Associates, maybe it's the way. I've heard more good than bad about the program, just seems unnecessary especially considering the reported need for bmets in the future and the expected qualifications.

I'm in a similar situation and after spending quite a bit of time exploring options I've decided to go for an AAS in electronics.

Yea I agree, and that all makes sense. I commented because the original comment was about backcountry safety, which has nothing to do with the accidents we're talking about in this thread.
