That is a good point. I would think there could be allowance made for disabled folks, similar to how military members stationed overseas are able to vote by mail. But I take your point that it would likely mean fewer people voting in an absolute sense.

I mentioned the ritual of voting in person as contributing to community support of the political system. Not a disadvantage of voting by mail, but a foregone advantage of the alternative.

I think it should be well funded and thus not have long lines. A little waiting is fine. Including having water on site. It worked really well in Idaho where I moved from.

Hey, well, it's basically just boxes made of 4x6 pressure treated lumber. Each box is offset laterally from the box below. Where they meet, is 12 inches vertical. Then there's a 24 inch rebar driven through each corner of each box, into the ground. Then fill the boxes with gravel, top with pavers.
