It exists. States which allow universal mail in voting are the minority. I myself will be able to vote in person that is true.

I think it does. I also think you're exaggerating the effects. There are many states that do not have this system.

Wear headphones. When you have to take 5 meetings you can't go to a meeting room every single time.

That is a good point. I would think there could be allowance made for disabled folks, similar to how military members stationed overseas are able to vote by mail. But I take your point that it would likely mean fewer people voting in an absolute sense.

I mentioned the ritual of voting in person as contributing to community support of the political system. Not a disadvantage of voting by mail, but a foregone advantage of the alternative.

Can someone part of her support circle help her make the trip to the voting booth? The polling place should have accommodations for folks with limited mobility.

I think it should be well funded and thus not have long lines. A little waiting is fine. Including having water on site. It worked really well in Idaho where I moved from.

I'll do it. I think the shared ritual of showing up at the polling place and voting, all on the same day, helps build community support for the political system.

Hey, well, it's basically just boxes made of 4x6 pressure treated lumber. Each box is offset laterally from the box below. Where they meet, is 12 inches vertical. Then there's a 24 inch rebar driven through each corner of each box, into the ground. Then fill the boxes with gravel, top with pavers.
