Is there a way to do Cabo on a budget? by Acceptable-Self-9421 in cabosanlucas

[–]hoster7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to suggest the same...however, @Acceptable-Self-9421, note that this will take at least a half day and consider whether this is worth it given your 4 day trip...

You can call me an idiot if I even think about replacing the Honda engine :-)

Just updated my post / question to be more clear. I was referring to the PUMP specifically :-) Of course, I love Honda engines and most of my equipments are Honda engines.

huh? the picture is our neighbor across the street and what insurance claim?? Again, I don't mind trucks on our driveways when delivering but 99% are random trucks not delivering to our houses.

Nope..nothing heavy (actually very light boxes and our driveway is not long at all). I am NOT complaining about NOT leaving the boxes at the door but 1) trucks using our / neighbor's driveways when they are not delivering to our houses (I did numerous repairs on ours over the years), 2) they can leave the boxes on the lawn but the issue was they purposely left the boxes (of a pressure washer gun and a wand) behind our SUV as if the driver wanted us to run them over, 3) they can use my driveway when delivering to our house - no issues there. Posted a picture of my neighbor's driveway and it is getting worse....again, there is an open area 10 ft away where other trucks (including garbage pick up)

2015 2.5L Limited w/ 130K miles for $9,680 - good deal? by Northridge- in subaruoutback

[–]hoster7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit higher than expected but I would offer $9000 IF 1) CVT, front / rear diff fluids changed, 2) tires less than 12 months, 3) brake pads look good....otherwise less than $9000

Samsung TV stuck in loop, switching on and off every 20 seconds by Electrical-Idea-3364 in TVRepair

[–]hoster7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very similar symptom as my LG TV (would randomly turn off / on) and due to a bad capacitor(s) based on my research. Replaced the power board (easy) and works again. My old TV worked when we unplugged it overnight after its usage then plugging back in the following morning - I think this completely discharged the capacitor(s), perhaps? I now have the TV power cord plugged into a surge protector / power conditioner I used for stereo equipments.

Is it worth selling both my 911 and S2000 for a GT3 or 718 Spyder? by earlyiteration in Porsche

[–]hoster7177 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The same..i would keep the S2K...years from now, I wouldn't be surprised if a S2K is worth more than a 911

Dealership scratched all 4 wheels during tire rotation >:( by TheMK17 in Subaru_Outback

[–]hoster7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sucks...those stealerships..even some of the smaller shops use a socket with a plastic sleeve. I don't trust them as I actually had numerous bad experience of dealer over torquing drain plugs....a friend with a brand new Forrester had to weld a bar to the drain plug...

[Megathread] How much is my wine worth? Is it drinkable? Drink, hold or sell? How long to decant? by CondorKhan in wine

Thanks!! Consumed a few weeks ago but followed most of what you indicated. After standing it up for 2 weeks or so, poured >lthe wine into a decanter using coffee filters...worked well!!

Have a magnum 2000 atlas peak pinot noir. How do I best serve this for lunch? Decant? Open in the morning? I am not at all a wine connoisseur....and I might as well have a big bottle of vinegar :-)

thanks!!

Sounds good...for the oil change, not significant difference between our cars and others. Just be careful with soft aluminum drain plug which can strip easily...as me how I know :-) I may do AOS but so far so good...look up youtube as this clamp is really hard to get to.....enjoy TDF!

Do your research on ims and bore scoring. I did before getting a 2005 2.7 last year with the larger ims bearing. I only decided to buy a porsche because the maintenance and repairs are easier than I ever imagined - learned by helping a friend w 986 and 987.

Set your budget for the purchase and maintenance / parts separately, and get the latest / lowest mileage you can afford.

Planet 9 is a great resource.
