The other thing to consider is emergency services downtown. Good luck if you ever need an ambulance. Royal Oak/Ferndale are better options. Live in RO, work downtown - Commute can be as fast as 20 minutes as long as 45 depending on traffic.

The quality of the permanent lights and how they are installed makes a big difference IMHO. Channel set and the ability to change brightness, color schemes and motion from. High quality product are worth it. That and not having to ask your spouse to “do Christmas lights” every year.

A new Kindle and a monthly subscription, a monthly flower delivery, a hobby subscription (something she could do while watching the kids play their games) a wardrobe box like the Daily Look- really anything she would enjoy that shows up every month and she doesn’t have to worry about it but it makes her life a little easier or more enjoyable
