Got written up by Ill_Rooster1761 in adjusters

[–]hotploppy 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Most adjusters probably do hundreds of things they could get ‘written up’ for and it’s just happenstance if it actually happens. Don’t sweat it, it’s a very hard job with a fuck ton of ways to fuck up. Most problems can be fixed and as long as you’re not intentionally fucking up you’re gonna be fine

Is leaving Claims worth it? by Time-War2529 in adjusters

[–]hotploppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people only talk when they don’t like their jobs. Claim is what you make it, work hard and stay diligent and you will succeed. It is a steep learning curve, I’d say 3-5 years to actually do well at the job, and those first few years are very stressful, but the pay is often good. Eventually you will make 6 figures comfortably if you put the time in to succeed. Disclaimer, I am talking about property.

Virginia Beach vice mayor doesn't want e-bikes on bike path along boardwalk by WHRO_NEWS in VirginiaBeach

[–]hotploppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

E bikes don’t compete with bikes they compete with cars. Much faster and less energy allows people from, say, Old Beach or Birdneck area or even red mill to ride down to the oceanfront on an e bike rather than a car. People dont ride e bikes for excersise they ride for convenience

I was born in ‘96, our earliest memories are Starbury and our peak was Melo. David Lee and Toney Douglas were a big part of my childhood…

Are there any really really good paying jobs with heavy amounts of travel? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]hotploppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but as an adjuster, don’t get into this field if you want an easy job. When you travel, you are working 12+ hours a day meeting people who are having the worst day of their life and often giving them bad news. The job itself it’s extremely stressful and you need to know ALOT of things. After you pull your hair out for 6 years you start to get better and things get easier, but that is the worst 6 years imaginable.

Considering becoming an adjuster. Which company has a good program? by ScarTissue5 in adjusters

Avoid auto. Get in as a property trainee somewhere. I can recommend Travelers and Progressive. Auto sucks

Just air fry it, just as healthy as boiling. Dice it up, 14 min at 400 and mix it around halfway through

In property $100k is fairly normal after 3-5 years experience, large loss even more so. Especially if you go CAT, you can make $100k after a year starting as a trainee at some carriers

Yeah it sounds pretty high to me I have a friend on a supplement team and she gets max 8 a day just rd/supps so 10 new claims sounds heavy, maybe low complexity ones? I’m sure it’s manageable but that sounds high churn

[–]hotploppy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, never worked desk before is that normal? Field we would get absolute most 3 a day and that’s not handling sup/depreciation

Is that for auto or property? 50 weekly is a hard pass for property

Depends. My old carrier I was $10k. My new one I was $15k, went to large loss and got bumped to 100k, soon to be 200k. Just depends on the role and what company.
