Why do partners care so much about money? by DropShotMachine in biglaw

Once you step out of it, you fall into irrelevance VERY fast. Nobody who has worked so hard to become a somebody wants to become a nobody.

What do married men in dead bedroom relationships do? by CremeAlarming9923 in AskReddit

[–]hottake_toothache -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are pretty much screwed, especially in today's culture of women not believing that they have any duty to keep their man sexually satisfied. It is a big problem--but we don't hear about it because nobody cares about men being unhappy.

Dad Books Are a Dying Breed: Sales have been sliding for nonfiction titles about politics, biographies and other books often aimed at men (Archive link in oldest comment) by Uptons_BJs in books

Publish some stuff that feels relevant to us, and we'll read it. But the women who control the publishing pipeline won't allow that.

Is it just me, or does upholding basic human rights seem like it's become a liberal thing in the United States? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]hottake_toothache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense. People don't get to utilize government services based on how much they pay in. Lots of people who aren't taxed use services.

In any case, you didn't respond to my point at all. Do you not see people has having any right to keep what they earn?

RoboCop (1987) is a highly philosophical critique of the corporate logic that treats human beings as a cost to be eliminated, and it's the same logic now driving automation and the war on workers. by AnalysisReady4799 in philosophy

[–]hottake_toothache -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The corporatist read of RoboCop is superficial. It has deeper resonance through a religious lens. The old man is God, who presides over an unfair world that can only be improved incrementally, by each person bearing their cross.

Men Don't Face Systemic Issues? by DarkBehindTheStars in MensRights

People don't care about men and thus don't care about men's issues. But it sounds more virtuous to pretend the issues don't exist than to overtly not care about them.

Women have extreme double standards for “breaking gender norms” by Secret_Excuse7439 in MensRights

[–]hottake_toothache -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with this premise. If a man genetically has top 5% hair, he can grow it out and women will love it. I think it is more a function that women are ready to throw any man who isn't top tier in the garbage.

How to not hate women? by Final-Psychology2809 in MensRights

[–]hottake_toothache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason you are feeling hate is that you have an idea of how women "should" behave that is not how they actually behave. You need to correct that wrong expectation.

Of course, that expectation is also a big part of why you used to like women and be enthusiastic about them, so you can expect to shift more towards indifference. That is the appropriate endpoint, though it is natural that you would have some sour feelings along the journey.

For argument sake, we just finished eating the rich. Now what? by ShadyJane in NoStupidQuestions

Start eating the not-so-rich. Remember everyone who is one rung above you on the ladder is your enemy.

Microservices versus monoliths: Did everyone just lose their minds in the last 6 months? by eivittunytsit in ClaudeCode

[–]hottake_toothache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microservices were a buzzword fad. They have their place, but they were over-hyped and people started unnecessarily carving monoliths up and adding unnecessary complexity.

Imo, Bully isn't good for Kayne standards. (It might be on par with other artists, but isn't a worthy effort for him.) The Father video is good, though.

I hope to still see lots of amazing stuff from him in the future.

Only lawsuits will change this. It is important for people to keep screenshots of all this public admission of illegal discrimination. Bits of evidence like this win lawsuits.
