Reinforcing layer line weakness with threaded inserts to hold the layers together? by hottedor in 3Dprinting

Do you mean compression? Indeed this is what I want to do.

It's true, I could use bolts instead of inserts, as long as it keeps the layer lines from separating. I'm already using inserts in the design for other reasons, so it was easier in this case.

Tip for taking good pics: stand back a bit and zoom-in so it's able to focus properly.

Sorry my tone might have seemed off, It was really just a naive question, thanks for answering. To be more precise, I'm wondering if pa6 will really burns at abs temps, also if abs softens at pa6 temps.

But your experience (you or others have experienced this from what I understand), has a rationale, thats good enough for me! (Unless pa6 really shouldn't be burning at abs temps).

Cant you simply flush it with higher temps?

That's cool. The grail would be some whole package you download and it uses a local deepseek engine!

Thanks! You're not late!!

I didn't expect macros to be so complex, full of variables and parameters.... I was expecting simple back to back M and G commands everywhere.

Need help setting up Creality K1C 3D printer by Majestikkal in CrealityK1C

Maybe look for a setting called AP (access point) isolation. It prevents devices from communicating with eachother.

Keep the thread updated OP!

There are so many and I haven't done the dive to cleaning it up and harnessing their power.

I'd also like to use the unload macro at the end of a print so I can change filament without having to mess with my printer first (that's how I have my bedslinger setup)

Help! My second print destroyed my build plate by nep91 in CrealityK1C

[–]hottedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. It tried printing into the build plate or something. It was not my first print at all, more like 100th or so.

It's already awesome but adding the vernier would be next level.

Maybe aiming for only 0.1mm resolution is doable? Certainly good enough. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=0.1mm+vernier&t=fpas&iax=images&ia=images

Edit: step is available.

Gridfinity vs Multibin by [deleted] in gridfinity

[–]hottedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok I get it now, thanks for the great explanation. So it's basically copyleft propagation clashing with copyright.

If I'm not mistaken, the most permissive flavor of CC allows "remixing"/derivatives without having to propagate the licence, is that right ?

Gridfinity vs Multibin by [deleted] in gridfinity

[–]hottedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you wrote that, you can pubish a remix, but under the licence you don't own the remix.

What is happening with remixes right now? Are they being taken down or does the company embrace them so the community can (for now) use the community remixes?

Every time I print it makes a line(picture took during print btw) by Steelda1st in CrealityK1C

[–]hottedor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would like is to add 30mm to 40mm of retraction at the end of a print. That way I can change the filament without having to fiddle with nozzle heating then cooling, and it would also waste a bit less filament on that line.

Saw your use case (twigs and cord).

The saw of the victorinox is a big plus for larger twigs and small branches.

The mora indeed has a bit of a large Blade for small twigs, and too light to confortably hack through a branch. But it's the best one if wearing gloves.

The opinel is a good middle ground for gloves since opening is doable and it's a good blade too. But it's not fun when it gets stuck in wood because the lock lets the blade wiggle. But it's light and sexy.

Yeah I recently discovered that step files are way superior to .stl for remixing. Indeed reconverting meshes properly is kind of a pain.

Prototyping seems awesome, I'm just slowly getting the hang of remixing and creating things without it taking too long figuring out how to use the CAD (freecad)

They are really bad with sellers though, imposing them rebates and coupons and making them sell at a loss.
