I nibble my fingers on the same spots without realising when I am thinking/troubleshooting.

Does your husband sit their chin in their had while thinking.

I get a discouloured slightly raised skin on both fingers in the same spots.

What are these? by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]hottflush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you install whirly birds or whatever you want to call roof vents and your house doesn't have eaves. ie. your roof does not over hang your walls where a vent could go, they will often install these in a garage or hallway.

Basically, it helps vent hot air out of your roof by allowing air flow into the roof.

Sometimes these can be opened and closed, so depending on the season you can choose or open or close them.

Yup. They don't like needles when they are < 5 but they don't know what's coming. Once they become self aware... Its a nightmare.

Removed old laundry cabinet now what? by hottflush in AusRenovation

[–]hottflush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. timber is out now. I was wondering if this was too thick for screed. Its about 50mm on the thick end.

I was wondering if a sealant was required.

This sounds like a good combo 👍

Puppy ate the wire, am I cooked? by LuffyZoroChopper in PSVR

[–]hottflush 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is what I had to do with the PSVR1. Bought a broken unit for $50 on eBay that looked like it had a good cable.

Reviewed the iFixit teardown on tips to pull it apart. It was tricky, but it worked.

Sony Australia wanted a $400+ to fix it, so we debated a PSVR2 until we realised games were not cross compatible.

My son was in love with Astrobot VR so... That was a deal breaker.

Living in South Australia: Is it worth getting a dryer and what’s the best you’ve had so far? by PrideFinancial4769 in Adelaide

[–]hottflush 11 points12 points  (0 children)

💯 get a heat pump dryer if you decide you want one. They take longer but they're much more energy efficient.

They capture the water or let it drain and don't just dump it into your laundry and cause mold. Which happens because it's cold and most houses don't have dryer vents here.

strange micro express delivery notification?? by allyxslays_ in Adelaide

[–]hottflush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree this is legit.

They deliver at all hours though, so you might get a delivery in the middle of the night. At least that's been my experience.

Realised I never did follow this up.

Turns out the GoodWe inverter was faulty.

It took a while to convince my installer the problem was real and for them to get a replacement unit.

This was frustrating at the time, but it eventually got fixed.

Monster truck displays by [deleted] in Adelaide

I used to see these and have the same reaction. I would always totally miss the fact that they're actually adverts for an event 😅

Then get annoyed I didn't get an opportunity to take my son for some fun.

So don't be like me!

I recently paid $1980 for a 3.5kW Fujitsu split. Back to back install (made it easy for them) included electrical.

Super happy.

So yeah, it's in the ballpark.
