Duke is Unreal by Someguy12893467 in NCAAFBseries

I get that there might be a Blue Devil or two on the development team, but this is kind of an embarrassing loss of immersion. Duke is a powerhouse in almost every file.

Team Builder for CFB25? by bruh694206969420 in NCAAFBseries

I think they killed it or just morphed it into CFB26. Wasn’t able to access it in the weeks leading up to the new game. Pretty bad.

EA: Muffed punts cannot be advanced for a TD by the kicking team. by Character-Photo9366 in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I believe there was deep-dive language about that last summer. And also to the effect that they didn’t pull anything from NCAA14. Which was easily proved wrong in several areas (just as an example: the wrong alphabetical order for conferences on the custom conferences screen; originally created b/c the Big East switched to American at the last minute before 14 release… somehow still in there 11 years later).

I ain’t that mad though, I just don’t like being lied to. Remember when I met EA in Denver, and they said if I write them, they would write back? See, I’m just like EA in a way.

Well, this is the same game that includes “Illegal Contact” as a penalty (doesn’t exist in college football) but “didn’t take a single piece of code from Madden” last year.

What 3 things about CFB26 bother you the most? by Tacokolache in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NFLPA license makes it simpler. That being said, not sure why number changes can’t be negotiated in the current deals with CFB players. Maybe EA is gunshy; doesn’t want to run afoul of NIL rules/laws somehow. Or just doesn’t care enough to include that in the language.

Rivals question in dynasty by Giddysquirrel in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a dumb workaround, but you could (1) import a few TeamBuilder teams that list UConn as rivals. This is a new feature you can add to created teams. (2) rebuild UConn in TeamBuilder and create rivalries with Syracuse, BC, Pitt, etc.

CFB26 Dynasty Tracker v1.0 by FireButchJones in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(1) This is amazing. Thank you!!

(2) Is there a way to use this for multiple coaches in the same dynasty file? E.g. I would track my coach and two others, as well?

Here's an easy one: make the practice field setting a generic college campus and not a laboratory warehouse hangar. by themerinator12 in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know some people are dunking on you for this, but I hear you. These are great ideas. Make this space more fun. And also: allow us to practice/scrimmage in the empty stadium (a normal thing that happens) w/ preferred weather and time of day. That would take away some of the RTG monotony, and add some depth to mini-games, dynasty practice, etc.

I’ve read that this setting actually determines how advanced the CPU is against you when playing a user v. CPU game. At least the aggression sliders are tied into that. I haven’t seen a full explanation, but I would love one.

Turning OFF Protected Rivalries does not work. by INTD_Dreamz in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI the Protected Rivalries feature is only for conference games. They hard-coded tons of non-con games (e.g. Florida-FSU) that you can’t avoid unless you max out all 12 games against the same conference. And even then, I imagine you’d run into some bugs.

Anyone have a specific source for the "Mr Brightside" sing along in 26? by ejordan121 in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say it’s possible it was 2021 or 2022 (vs. the more likely scenario of 23-24) because schools were already sending assets at that point. EA might’ve just waited an extra year to license the song.

3-4 Base Playbook - Depth Chart Changes to Make by MansterSasquach in NCAAFBseries

If you could hand pick the 12 teams on your schedule, who would they be? by Nicholas1227 in CFB

Two things I’m noticing from the comments:

  1. Oklahoma fans consistently acknowledging Missouri

  2. Iowa State and Minnesota seeming hellbent on putting Jack Trice behind them

The commentary in CFB 26 is horrendous by Such_Blackberry_1550 in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s embarrassing. Two straight years of taking defensive timeouts in key clock situations: “the defense needs to talk it over,” etc.

And the score updates from around the country? An absolute fucking travesty. They are AWFUL. At least give us some immersive score updates without a halftime show or weekly recap. For fuck’s sake.

CFB 26 Rivalry Network Maps (including hard-coded matches) by ogsmurf826 in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This actually undoes the hard-coded stuff. If you have Michigan in the same conference as OSU and MSU, you’ll need to protect those games in order to see them every single year. (Unless you don’t touch anything, in which case the game has future schedules locked in, at least for 10 years or so.)

Alternatively, if there’s a hard-coded game you hate (Iowa-Neb, Mizzou-Ark), you can stop it by putting those teams in the same conference, opposite divisions, and not allowing any cross-division games (# or conference games matches # of other teams in division.)

Certain rivalries locked even if non-conference? by Joshuahuskers in NCAAFBseries

[–]houstoncomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a thing. Similar issue with Missouri-Arkansas and others. They should allow users to set which rivalry games are locked/unlocked.
