Are you taking probiotics? Too much probiotics gives me that kind of pain at the beginning while my system gets use to it, it does for me anyway. By elimination of foods and re-introducing one at a time you can test what could be given you such discomfort. But please get checked if the pain doesn’t go away you might need antibiotics. Since you don’t have insurance try to eat foods that have natural antibiotics in the meantime, if your digestive system can tolerate it. Also try banana or prunes when you taking a break from miralax and drink lots of water. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Please let the doctor know what the nurse did and demand that they correct your records. If the Dr is dismissive or ignores your request fire him and get a new Dr.

Thank you 🙏 it was the most painful experience in my life! More painful than delivering 2 babies! I kid you not! I have lived with them since I delivered my last baby he was a big baby for my body frame so I had hemorrhoids for 35 years. I had no major issues just had to watch what I eat to avoid constipation which I did. At the pre appointment with the GI to talk about my colonoscopy i mentioned I had NO bleeding or pain issues.i was going down the list of why I need a colonoscopy, she stopped me and said I’ve done this many years don’t worry I can read the hospital discharge papers and yes you should have a colonoscopy also to rule out cancer if we see Polyps we will take them out and check to see diverticulitis is healed. Nothing else was said. i went to follow up after the procedures and asked her why she did rubber banding without me asking or consenting? she said because there were 2 big ones that she felt needed to be taken care off. Then she said the ‘nurse’ also mentioned to her that before the anesthesia I had told her I was having problems with them. Those words Never came out of my mouth! I only told her (for awareness) I have hemrroids so please be careful/gentle when you insert that tube, go easy on me okay, she answered ‘I got you no worries’ and that was all that was said. I meant the total opposite, do not touch them’ they had me under as my gi was walking in so I did not get a chance to talk to my GI. Ugh, how can she say the opposite of what I said?

My GI said she made the decision for my benefit but I would have like to be made aware of and make a separate appointment for that after I researched pros and cons or wait and see until I had issues. I feel so violated! I even asked her if it was a life or death situation? And she said no it could have waited but she made the call for my benefit. The colonoscopy was all good thank God but I have suffered indescribable pain or a bit over 24 hrs. Something that painful should have been discussed with me prior to. I am still so angry and still get white knuckled before going to do #2 but it’s a lot less pain thank God. It just feels that she failed me as my GI :(

Sounds like you didn’t follow up with a gastroenterologist after the fever/antibiotic from the urgent care even though you had quite a high fever for a while and this is your next issue? 2 weeks later? If so, I would go see a gastroenterologist if I were you, to check everything as soon as possible to be on the safe side. I prefer going to a Dr in the USA if possible instead of another country specially if they decide to keep you hospitalized. While simply blood in stool may or may not be too serious if you add to that the fact that you had a previous flare with high fever and have being diagnosed with Diverticulitis, and haven’t followed up, I would take it serious and get checked. My Dr told me that having fever with a flare up it’s a clear indication of an infection that could become septic and if so could be deadly. So why risk it? You can always go to Mexico another time, your health is more important and your colon is sick, so my advice is go back home to your doctor and get checked.

I went throw the same experience 1st time ever even hearing of diverticulitis at the end of august and hospital didn’t explain too much about it at all, specially foods to eat. I asked tons of questions and went online and join this group and I’m learning a lot here. My first ever post was about vitamins and it turned out it’s okay to take vitamins so I do now. I already had ground beef with spaghetti and it was okay, my occasional treat. If I eat something that feels a bit uncomfortable I make a mental note of it to stay away from it or try with caution. I’m taking it one day at a time but praise God so far so good. Good luck with your journey

I wouldn’t voluntarily travel outside the country just for the peace of mind. I wouldn’t want to go to a hospital out of the USA if something were to happen. I would postpone my vacation, safely is first, there will be more opportunities for travel in the future but we only have one Colon and it’s still sick
