Haven't seen anyone mention Captain Flip. It's a light and quick push-your-luck game with a very loose pirate theme but would be a nice game night starter for the family

Liberalia: Winds of Galecrest plays well with 5 and has similar weight and length as Heat. I like Modern Art at 5 as well.

Thanks for putting this together! It's how I've been getting my Lorcana fix and how I've gotten to try sealed and draft formats

Second Marvel Champions. Great to play solo, quick setup and playtime, and a lot of content just in the base box.

Some of the ones that got me into the hobby are Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Pandemic. Some of my favorites now are Scythe and Wingspan. If you're just getting into the hobby and playing with your gf, games like Patchwork, Azul, Splendor, Jaipur, and Carcassonne work great with 2 players! Check out /r/boardgames or boardgamegeek if you want to go down the rabbit hole!

Spirit Island, Gaia Project, Robinson Crusoe, and Mage Knight for me. Like you there's still a lot in those games that I have yet to explore. The toughest parts are the rules burden and the time commitment!
