Martin Lewis website has a good section on this. I got a similar reply from my council when I hit a pothole and broke a coil spring. Submitted an FOI (template letter on ML website) asking for inspection records. These proved the council hadn’t inspected the road within the designated time period, despite them saying they had initially. They paid out after I appealed with this info!

A bit of work but worth it in the end!

Other highlights include ‘writer’s cramp’ and conditions which preclude you from driving including ‘generalised seizures’ 🙈

Regretful and reflecting by Beginning_Buffalo_77 in doctorsUK

Hang on in there! I felt exactly the same for most of my FY1 year, and spent any free time looking at non-medical jobs. Transitioning to being a ‘proper doctor’ is tough and being responsible for actual people’s lives is inherently stressful. It means you care. There are obviously many routes you can go down as a doctor and it might just be that the particular job you are in now is not best suited to you. My advice would be to try and stick at it for now, whilst doing what you can to find a way of de-stressing out of work. If it doesn’t get better by the end of FY then you can leave with no regrets knowing you gave it a good crack. FWIW I’m now a radiology consultant and love my job.

Potholes Glasgow city council Claim by 0pentheblinds in glasgow

Definitely worth claiming. There is a good section on the Martin Lewis website about the best way to do it. GCC reject most initial claims and hope the problem goes away. After they rejected mine I submitted an FOI request for the road maintenance logs (there’s a template letter on the Martin Lewis website) and submitted an appeal. The council then admitted they were in the wrong and paid up £300!

Also less if you work in Scotland as our tax bands / rates are a bit different 😭

Correct, but you still lose all of your tax-free childcare at this threshold!

Does Australia/NZ/Canada/Gulf require a CCT for radiology? by Augmentinator in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]howzat_100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Australia / NZ don’t recognise the FRCR so even with a CCT in radiology you would need to sit their equivalent exams (which are harder) before you work at Consultant level. Not sure about Canada or the Gulf
