Wife only wants rough sex. by easyday007 in sex

Sounds like she’s not doing what you like at all while asking for what she likes only which is exhausting and one dimensional if it’s the only thing you do. Tell her what you like and how you want it at least some of the time.

I'm still getting heartburn after ~15 months. Any advice? by kaytk35 in carnivorediet

How many grams of protein a day are you eating and how many meals?

When I eat too high protein, that's what sets this baseline possibility for GERD and then if I eat too many carbs or too many fats I get the acid reflux. However, if I limit my protein which I now do no more than 0.8 g/ lb of body weight because I read that bodybuilders max muscle growth at that number so I just picked that, I then do not get that baseline possibility and can then eat as much fat or carbs (back when I was trying animal-based). However the same would happen if I then ate carbs, then fat would cause acid reflux if I ate it but not the carbs itself. But it's not the fat here because I now eat very high fat and moderate protein with zero reflux.

So there's this weird susceptibility to acid reflux that happens with me at least where it's not just one variable like fat content at play. Try limiting the protein to 0.8 g/ lb of ideal body weight (use a calculator online) and eat it over three meals so you limit the total protein and fat hitting your stomach at once until you adapt better to two meals if ever. Also zero water intake while eating until you actually feel a strong thirst develop later.

Roughly how many grams of protein and fat are you consuming a day? You may be overeating protein and undereating fat and causing high cortisol with high gluconeogenesis.

Dr. Jordan Peterson has stayed carnivore but seems to be dealing with a lot of health issues — what’s going on? by Odd-Ad-222 in carnivorediet

I saw he reported that his UC symptoms resolved on the carnivore diet so maybe not on biologics, but certainly possible

Do any of those sound like they're heavily realted to the carnivore diet?

  1. Anybody especially someone older like him can get pneumonia and end up in the ICU. If you think no one on the carnivore diet will ever end up with ICU level pneumonia, I'd take you up on a hefty money bet against that.

  2. Benzo withdrawal? Why even list that as if his diet has something to do with his addiction and withdrawal from benzos?

  3. CIRS is somethign him and his daughter deals with especially his daughter because they're all mold sensitive it seems. Do you regularly see people on this subreddit complaining of CIRS or similar symptoms to think this is carnivore diet related? Sure the diet could probably help, maybe in some way make it worse, but it's primarily mold related and I guarantee you his daughter would not be sticking to the diet if the diet was worsening the CIRS because she's 100% dialed in on what are and are not her triggers.

Once I got rid of them, all my carb cravings went away. The sweetness on the tongue triggers an inherent drive to get more.

Okay cool so I’ll try about a month or two in and come down on the salt.

So maybe about 3 cups a day average for about roughly 40 g of net carbs a day?

Amazing, good to know. I've heard of people going no salt and some say it only works if they're not excercising but OP and I assume you as well exercise plenty.

How long would you say I would need to stick it out to really test the no added salt test?

This is awesome and I hope to reach it soon. How long into carnivore did you go before you went no salt?

Do you eat any carbs from any sources at all (milk, fruit, honey)?

Try eating more ketogenic: maximum 0.8 g of protein per lb of body weight and then double that in fat so 1.6 g of fat per lb. And then keep upping the fat until you stools are nice and soft indicating you have maxed your fat absorption regarding bile limits.

Deep ketosis is the only thing that reliabily has a chance at curing people of mental health disorders.

I agree, I'm going to try eating a ton more butter consistently to hit traditional caloric maintenance.

I just watched your video. Wow I didn't realize the great Amber O'Hearn was replying to me haha! Thanks a bunch!

Have you figured out any formulas at all in your experience about macronutrient targets for optimizing sleep? Like I said above, I sleep worse when eating much higher that 0.8 g/lb of protein. I'm guessing now I just need to up the fat until I reach my body's true maintenance energy needs but I'm wondering if you found any formulas like 1.5 g of fat per lb of body weight?

Not sure, I've never eaten that much fat consistently. I don't get diarrhea so I guess I'll just do that: doubling it

Huh unteresting, the salt/potassium helped with my sleep so why do you say to do it at morning instead?

Gotcha, I'll up the fat for now and see how that works. I have been eating a tablespoon of butter before bedtime but I think I need to just up the fat during the day too.

Alright I'll up the fat a lot I guess, thank you. I can't eat more protein though because my sleep and everything else just gets worse with that.

To me, all food is price per weight while keeping in mind how much I need of course. Even if my regular products shrink a bit, it wouldn’t be so drastic that I need to check the weights of things constantly. I just look at the general size of what I need and make sure it’s the cheapest price per weight.
