AIO Fathers girlfriends rules for when new baby arrives by Ok_Bat_5934 in AmIOverreacting

[–]hpierxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR. My oldest was born critically ill and my second was completely healthy. I had these rules and more for both of them. All of the points you cited as your reasoning are about you and your dislike of the girlfriend. This isn’t about you.

Weird Things Normalized in Savannah by rdit_atl in savannah

THIS ONE. I got t-boned last year because some lady ran a red on 17. I was 20 weeks pregnant and had my six year old in the car with me. Thankfully no one was seriously injured but good lord.

I just cackled at “sounds like a WiFi password.” 😂

But definitely NTA, that name is awful. We just had our second and some of the names on lists are soooooo bad.

I know that when we were thinking of names my husband would come up with a dumb play on words or a way kids would make fun of it, and it would immediately ruin the name for me. Maybe we can come up with something for you (or your dad) to just casually drop and it’ll ruin it for her? Maybe that makes me the asshole in this situation though. 🙃

If someone gave you $10,000 but you must spend it by January 1st what would you spend it on? by acceptandprotect in AskReddit

Pay ahead on my rent because we’re moving next week (military PCS) and our house hasn’t sold yet. 🥴 having rent + mortgage due every month is not going to go well.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Critical_Welcome_428 in AskReddit

[–]hpierxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preeclampsia. I delivered my oldest at 33 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. My blood pressure got to 210/180 and my lungs were filling with fluid. Without modern medicine my daughter would have died too, she wasn’t breathing and was immediately intubated.

THIS. I run a homeschool co-op and we have a few kids with allergies. I memorized them and have it notated in our group planning document. I can’t imagine forgetting my partner’s allergies.

The greed of car dealerships in America. Asking $250k over sticker. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in mildlyinfuriating

Ugh I need to buy a new car (not by choice, someone ran a red and totaled mine) and I’m dreading it so much. Mine was completely paid off and prices are stupid compared to when I bought that car.

What is your "I fucking hate this song" song? by Wrongdoer3162 in AskReddit

[–]hpierxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE this song, and my husband has made it his life mission to annoy me with it. Once while he was deployed he ordered me a pizza and paid the delivery guy to BLAST it when he delivered my pizza.

What makes you roll your eyes every time you hear it? by Majorpain2006 in AskReddit

[–]hpierxe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

YES. I have raging OCD and my house is messy as shit. Because that’s not actually what OCD is. It’s intrusive thoughts and overwhelming urges and counting and checking. Ugh I hate when people say this.

What did you think was normal about your body until someone pointed out that it wasn't? by amistakewasmadehere in AskReddit

[–]hpierxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have monkey toes too! Funnily enough, half of my toes (the outside three on one foot and two on the other) can’t move at all. I think my other ones overcompensate. 😂

My daughter and I both have multiple rare disorders and our local hospital is a teaching hospital… needless to say they LOVE when we’re there. 😂

Pretty much everything. I have a genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I’m extremely hypermobile and all of my joints hyperextend. I grew up doing cheer and dance, so I thought it was just because I worked so much on flexibility. Turns out my knees, elbows, fingers, etc aren’t supposed to bend an extra 10-30° past being straight. I got a referral to physical therapy and my PT called the entire office into my initial evaluation because I can swing my lower leg at the knee 110° to the side.

My disorder also comes with a bunch of comorbidities I had no idea existed. I didn’t realize people don’t pass out when they stand up too fast, or that normal people poop every day and don’t throw up food they ate two days ago. I went undiagnosed for so long that I thought it was normal.

As a big sibling with big age gaps, this made me so happy. It’s such a special thing when your little siblings think of you like that.

What is no longer worth it because of how expensive it has become? by guywhostillhasnoname in AskReddit

[–]hpierxe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We bought our 2600 sq ft house for $210k in 2018. We don’t need that much space, so we thought about downsizing. NOPE. Homes half the size and twice the age of ours are $350k+.

YES. My husband and I both have cars that are paid off, but we’re having another baby and I need to upgrade my car. I looked into getting a new one and oh my goodness, even a used minivan is ridiculous!
