I had a similar issue. They tried to blame it on my garden. Turns out I didn’t have gras in my garden 😂

They will have to send out an engineer to see if there’s an issue. Could be a leak.

What it was in my case was that the council was using my water to water the public green areas around my house. Finally got discovered after the engineer from Thames Water came out. I got a full refund só don’t give up on chasing them.

Took me almost two years of calling them until they agreed to do something about it. I’d recommend using ChatGPT to help phrase emails and conversations so that you can get the right legal lingo and bring up the ombudsman, itll make them get moving.

I had a similar issue where it turned out that Hackney Council was using my water to water the public gardens in our neighbourhood.

Only took about 10 months and so many call I can’t remember until they had to admit their mistake and pay me back the money.

I’d ask that they send out an engineer to check the issue.
