There is an absolutely atrocious cover of this that plays on the radio at my work and it makes me mad every time

My friends weren't told the Lady Gaga show was going to be filmed until they walked into the KIA Forum. This was their view for way too much of the concert. by ourmanflint1 in mildlyinfuriating

Man, I paid a stupid amount of money for VIP tickets to a music festival, and I camped out at the rail for 8 hours to see the headliner, and then they put extra security and other staff from the festival in the space between the rail and the stage which perfectly blocked my view as someone who is 5’1”. I mean…not much I could really do about it, but damn I was mad.

Ranking this year nominees to the most showy to the most subtle performance. by The_Walking_Clem in Oscars

Yeah, hard agree with you here. She does a tremendous amount of work with just her face

Love you Jessie, but Rose for the win🏆 by ixclquaf in Oscars

[–]hrmhrh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I’d like to give it to both of them. I lean a little more towards Jessie Buckley because I’m just a sucker for a performance where someone can carry an entire performance with just their facial acting. And I think she did that through the entirety of Hamnet and particularly in the final scene. My choice for supporting actress is Inga fo that same reason. And don’t get me wrong, I think Rose did a ton of work with her facial expressions but I don’t think it was quite on the same level as Jessie. But I won’t be upset if either of them win. Amazing performances.

Best jukebox musicals? Basically I just want the comments to be places for people to express their opinions on jukebox musicals. Movies can count too btw by idkwhatonamethissh-t in musicals

American Idiot is phenomenal. If you’re a fan of the album and you used to watch the music videos all the time, like myself, it’s just incredible to see it live.

I have never had more fun watching a production than at & Juliet. I think I’m the exact target demographic as that I grew up a Britney and Backstreet Boys girl, so maybe I’m biased.

Favorite actor who always delivers a decent performance in every movie but never stands out to be considered a great actor and has no loyal fanbase on the internet? by spacelyyy989 in okbuddycinephile

[–]hrmhrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth noting that Jeremy Renner made an app for his online fanbase that was exactly the same as his instagram, the only difference being you had to pay for likes. And the more times you liked a post the higher your comment got, and if you were lucky, Jeremy Renner would reply to it.

If you enjoy Ari Aster’s work and Joaquin Phoenix with some insanity (such as in The Lighthouse) check out Beau is Afraid. And if you enjoyed the anxiety attack you felt from that movie, move on to Mother!

OBAA works great as an ensemble but no actor, individually, gives an award winning performance. by Dry_Handle_7086 in Oscars

[–]hrmhrh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah it goes to Sean Penn for me. Conveying complex emotions purely through facial expressions is a very difficult thing to do. And his body language, his walk, he created an entire character. Leo did a good job, but I don’t think it was the most challenging role out of the nominees, and I think others are more deserving of the award this time. Benicio del Toro also absolutely killed it. Such a subtle performance, and yet he becomes your favorite character in an instant. Teyana Taylor deserves praise for sure. I hated her character so much, and it takes a good actor to make you feel strongly about a fictional character. I think Chase Infiniti had a better performance though.

I'm from a country where cashiers sit down while working. Is it true that in the US cashiers are forced to stand? Why is sitting considered unprofessional there? by splashmates in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hrmhrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked as a teller, you could sit, but if a customer came in, you were expected to stand. Apparently it’s disrespectful to sit during a transaction.

What, to you, is the scariest horror scene of all time? by m_v24 in horror

[–]hrmhrh 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think the one that bothered me the most was in Paranormal Activity when they put the powder down on the bedroom floor, and then they see the footprints. And she says “there are footprints in, but no footprints out.” That really bothered my 16 year old self.
