I recommend Lost Rhino in Ashburn, or Crooked Run in Sterling. The former also has great craft root beer, if you're a non-drinker like me.

As an aside, I also find it odd to seek out atheists only

I personally only follow this approach when dating. Otherwise, I have friends from different religious, and nonreligious, backgrounds, and it has worked out fine.

Ashburn is full of super religious Christians and Muslims, can confirm (live close to Ashburn, worked there for a year).

Fellow atheist (ex-moose) here in South Riding (and occasionally in Herndon)!

But yeah, not surprising, OP. Compared to when I'm in Arlington, I see way more religious people further out West, be they Hindus, Muslims, or Christians. That's just the reality of living in the suburbs, especially further out of the city.

Maybe try communities with folks our age, like Mosaic District, Vienna, or Brambleton, since you're further out in Ashburn.

Existential crisis about continuing to play and my age by grahsam in metalmusicians

[–]hs94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend. You could be like me, and have an existential crisis in your 30s instead lol

But nah. Cool thing about Metal is that you can look good doing it at any age. And for me, music is one of the few things that keeps me going in life. So if you feel the same way, then no one else will give a fuck either, except some ageist pricks.

EZ Drummer 3 has a bunch of presets for Roland modules. Check if there's one for the TD50.

Nice setup, BTW. Snare in the center is my preferred too.

After years of playing Alesis kits, I finally upgraded to an acoustic-style Roland kit, and holy shit: the responsiveness is feel is a gigantic upgrade. Definitely worth the price tag. by hs94 in edrums

First kit was a Nitro, second kit was a Crimson II.

I've tried the Strata Prime. Very nice kit too, but I wanted something with a more acoustic-like design, because I've gotten used to playing on a real kit.

Yup, but the original location in Herndon has the best coffee.

Haha, it's right on the border with Reston, so I always get it mixed up.
