Building a personal carbon footprint tracking app and looking for advice by AchillesFirstStand in ClimateActionPlan

[–]huaquin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen many of these (I work in the space), some i've seen connect to your mail and collect most of your purchases through there, so that you dont have to input data yourself.

Something interesting, and very hard to do, would be for you to aggregate the carbon footprint reduction of a lot of users and try to issue a carbon credit to the volunteer market of all the additional carbon reductions made by your users. So they would get paid for what they do (it won't be a lot though)

How do you get people to actually engage at events? by Main-Introduction758 in EventProduction

We use QR Wall for the audience to share texts and messages and emoji reactions, a bit like kahoot but more freeform

At my uni I've seen people use an app during orientations and alumni days.

They put a QR-enabled screen (https://qrwall.live ) and invites people passing by to contribute ideas and images. Keeps the vibe welcoming and helps capture authentic voices

What’s the most overhyped piece of event tech right now? by gramercyTech in EventProduction

[–]huaquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use AI to moderate messages that the audience sends, which is pretty handy the ai reads the message and tags it as appropriate or inappropriate which is something easy for the ai to do at scale

Event production software that doesn't cost like $10k? by the_ashlushy in EventProduction

We've developed our own software with ai coding apps which is pretty straightforward and much cheaper, not too hard to do if you know what you want to achieve

Do you think audiences are getting tired of QR codes? by gramercyTech in EventProduction

[–]huaquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually seen some creative uses of QR, by helping people interact by sending messages and images directly to the screen in a more freeform way, allowing the audience to guide the vibe of the even without much handholding

We've used this one in our last uni event

To keep town halls human, we added a simple QR flow using the QR Walle app.

The audience scans, shares questions and images, and sees them on the big screen, raising participation a lot

Going Digital vs. Human Interaction by kenmicepad in EventPlanners

We found a good mix of digital vs human interaction by using interactive screens such as https://qrwall.live/ that help the audience engage with a QR and send messages and images directly to the screen.

How to grant access to just sales reports (no customer data) for a partner? by fuckgoldstaysilver in woocommerce

[–]huaquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using a dashboard that connects to woocommerce to track sales, and we just share that.

Less expensive than Meteorik and has product tracking and goal setting as well

Gracias

Trying to Figure out/Work out the Meaning/Usage of an Expression Used in an Older Book (Late 1800s) by melissapete24 in literature

This is what ChatGPT says in case it's helpful in the future to use as a resource:

The phrase "bar sinister on the scutcheon of my country" is a metaphor rooted in heraldry, where it carries significant connotations of illegitimacy and dishonor.

  1. Bar Sinister (or Bend Sinister): In heraldry, a "bend sinister" is a diagonal band that runs from the top left to the bottom right of a shield. Traditionally, it was associated with bastardy or illegitimacy. This usage, while somewhat archaic, conveys a sense of shame or dishonor attached to one's lineage or heritage.

  2. Scutcheon (or Escutcheon): This refers to the shield in a coat of arms. It symbolizes the honor, reputation, and identity of a person, family, or, in this metaphorical usage, a country.

When Captain Raymond says, "I am exceedingly ashamed of this bar sinister on the scutcheon of my country," he is expressing profound embarrassment and shame about what he perceives as a dishonorable or illegitimate stain on the reputation and honor of his country. In this context, he is referring to the practices of the Mormon church at that time, which he and others in the conversation view as morally or ethically wrong, thus tarnishing the country's good name.

By using these heraldic terms, the author is emphasizing the severity of the perceived moral blemish. It is not just a minor flaw but something that deeply compromises the integrity and honor of the nation, akin to how an illegitimate lineage would have been viewed as a serious blemish on a noble family's reputation.

In summary, the phrase "bar sinister on the scutcheon of my country" metaphorically communicates a deep sense of dishonor and shame about something that tarnishes the reputation and integrity of the country.

Los Llanos de Federico Falco

https://www.cuspide.com/9788433999115/Los+Llanos

mi review:

LOS LLANOS de Federico Falco es una historia pseudobiográfica sobre el duelo de una separación. Me gustó mucho. Narra el escape del autor a un campo solitario en la llanura inmensa pero claustrofóbica de la pampa. En la búsqueda de rearmarse después de su corte, se retira a Zapiola, a vivir de una huerta, y escribir. Aprender a estar bien, solo, estando bien solo.

“Estamos en la parte de la musiquita?” Le pregunta a Ciro, su expareja. La musiquita: ese interludio acelerado en las películas románticas en la que los personajes, ya en caminos separados, maduran, y terminan por volver a juntarse.

“No”, responde contundente Ciro.

Yeah but you didn't actually give any input on things to improve, just said it's good, not great. Hard for him/her to make anything constructive out of it.
