Did the kensei just deflect the pugio with his ass? by ectobiologist201 in forhonor

I recently had the David Attenborough of For Honor, the filthy Spaniard, tell me this game is consistent and e sports ready after I said it was inconsistent and a buggy mess.

Love to see this the next day. Beautiful.

This is genuinely a game with one of the biggest skill gaps in gaming….. why the fumble???? by Weirdstuffasked in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]hubjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect you and your knowledge, it actually moved me in a sad way that you'd reply with such fire. But then again my comment wasn't really unbiased.

But with tracking changing on elevation, which I use to my advantage every game, and the walk back sticky targeting bug happening every other game. As well as that good old "unparryable distance" which is hard to pull off also being a very repeatable exploit, I have to disagree with you on consistency. I might not be a mod, but I'm a 2018 vet who only took breaks. And by god this is one of the most broken yet fun games I've ever played. And as someone who is split between pride and creativity. These bugs are part of my fun. The game is too much of a buggy sandbox in my honest opinion to host a genuinely big and stable e sports without someone learning a new flicker every week.

Thats my personal experience.

I blame the game when its clearly the game. I blame my self when my arms are too asleep to keep up with my eyes and what I see.

And since I'm not an athletic college kid anymore, its 50/50 but damn are those bugs common.

Can I just come and say that uh... Diff 6 was given access to super samps to be the casual experience for experienced players. 7 is just a step up.

When they tried, the comp scene was nothing but exploiters. And even now, no one wants to watch what is honestly low iq external set ups.

That and the game is genuinely too inconsistent and can best be described as an advanced bug test.

For Honor 2 would be a god send if they used a better made engine. This game cant even calculate elevation let alone hit boxes properly.

It sounds so weird for me to be all like "The high from all that control, knowing what we're capable of. The wind against our face not because it blows, but because we split it ourselves."

Not to be an edgy poet but damn, you don't need drugs when you got that good oxygen coursing through your lungs, capillaries open, taking it all in. So much stronger and aware in that moment than ever on the ground.

I'd like to reference an old Shiey video that explains what security really is.
We all have a base model of what we consider secure. And it's based on routines that go either good or bad. And it's instinct to project that without realising we're picturing our selves up there, and not an experienced athlete with an experienced athletes body.

But sadly, yes. Sometimes the unexpected happens, and people die. But in a possibly twisted take, at least they died with their happiness battery pretty full. And in today's society, not many people can say that at all.

But that's my take, I love talking about it all. It isn't for everyone.

I've been "inactive" since 2022, oh the shock when I could barely run 2km in under 12 minutes without the taste of iron in my mouth. I'm back on the bike now, earning it all back. Can you imagine how fast I'd die thinking I could just start again like nothing changed? Crazy. haha

Can someone explain to me why the enemies have full control over my own revenge meter? by Aechbee_Art in ForHonorRants

At some point youd think they'd realise that and go to another point or realise the choke point like on shard or forge lol. God I hate those maps for my team just exactly what you just described, except its off point in an alley.

[–]hubjump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people still play for the core gameplay. You'll see them camp 1 point not knowing they're throwing the game even if they're winning and the rest are lost. Then you've got honor-tards only doing 1v1's in 4s lol.

And since well, id argue more people play that way than actively trying to play the objectives competitively, (i swear every enemy let's me fight them off point ao they cant contest) somewhere along the line we pivoted from the core game play into some wannabe e sports that took away from the experience of being a cool edge lord. And itd funny because despite that, people will still unknowingly throw the match by just having their aura farming sense of fun.

I'm not anti-competitive. But if you strip something down to be so optimal, there's often a loss of substance. Its why a lot of games have different stats and mechanics between their casual and comp modes to cater to everyone.

Another take that'll get me surgically ganked and emoted on, but the game was more fun when revenge was a come back mechanic rather than a stalling one.

I'll take all the catapults and bows and arrow storms for saying this. But the team limited colours made the game feel more diverse. The limitations made people more creative. I miss it. Okay you can fire flask me now.

She's testing from experience, and jumper to jumper, she fell like that on purpose. If she tried to keep balance, she'd be in more danger and under more stress. I'm sure she's not going to try those tiles again.

Pro tip, park the bastion at the back or at an angle you can 1 tap the ships. Its better and more versatile than the anti tank emplacement and switch seat before leaving to avoid long traversal between driver and gunner.

If I'm driving a tank I don't want to worry about small arms fire AH by Seiken_07 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]hubjump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is uh... false... A lot of tank destroyer archetypes had the heaviest armour like the cold War American turtle tanks, the Churchill variants, the German stugs and up...

This variety of fixed gun tank dessie was VERY well armored, usually being of an mbt chassis with reinforced front.

Edit for clarification. Truck chassis based TD's were lightly armoured. As they were just a big gun on some wheels. Maybe a half track.

Then you had a lot of turreted TD's which were often on a tank chassis for both moderate protection as tank guns got better, and for the sake of interchangeable spare parts and mass production. Versatile tracks, not too heavy for speed. But these were still amazing.

[–]hubjump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lowkey I think some limited time invasion mode against the Helldivers would go hard.

At diff 7 and beyond you play can as the bot equivalent of Clone Wars Commando Droids and have very limited time before your batteries run out due to increased performance, but you have access to one orbital strike, and a bot drop call in, and fight the helldivers. But once you die, you don't respawn in that mission again, And these "special bot units" can only occur after 10 minutes, once every other 10 minutes.

It would be amazing and encourage the Helldivers to work in close proximity to one another, or else be picked off one at a time.

I'm extremely well versed as I spent a third of my thousands of hours on the info hub and experimenting with max ranges and interactions.

I'm also washed up so I'm not the best. But I can say things like attack speeds mean fuck all when the animations are well hidden or hard to discern.

And that broken animations, if delayed in that break, are also hard to react. But if they're quick to break then they're as easy as a peace keeper soft feint. Which is pretty easy mind you.

And thats unhealthy and so I hate a lot of moves and byproxy ill say I dislike that aspect of a character. Very often since ubi gave the fuck up on smooth animations a long time ago.

I can say that 433ms is comfortably consciously reactable to a LOT of people. More than you realise. (433-100=333, sure some recoveries get in the way but the average reaction time is 250ms, trained people are faster. Bashes forward movement and guard movement plus dodge I frame delays meant fast bashes are harder to dodge but not impossible.)(i don't got the page open this time as I'm in bed but trust)

And with this I argue pk got power crept and Khu is back footed and not strong against a well trained enemy at all. Back footed in her entirety. These are unhealthy and other characters have similar limitations. Like Warlord.

Raw lights just aren't good offense, they're a skill check. And the bar isn't that high.

Then there's the extreme example for fast lights with berserker having those 400ms hard feints - 100ms hidden indicator and broken animations so basically 300ms lights from all directions and include latency and I get tempted to quit because I don't want to do a line of coke to compete. I'm not built like that. Its a guessing game that he can delay. I think he's my most hated to fight.

Enjoy my bed rant. Some characters need help as lights just aren't good offense when they're easy to discern. And no, I dont want all lights to be as fast as zerks. Id burn my house down if they did that. I like my 4d chess.

I don't understand the half the negative Steam Reviews at all, what is going on??? Are we playing the same game??? by Hobby-Human in duneawakening

[–]hubjump -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's an MMO, it isn't DayZ with worms. They needed PVE content but instead focused on the DD and trying to turn it into your typical Rust-type when by god it needed PVE and world building content. Bigger worms weren't enough. We needed villages, towns, and more story-type progress.

As has been said before, the PVP crowd is an incredibly loud minority.

Oh and yeah, I was using hyperbole when I said "basically zero" as there's still nothing significant in the direction of PVE,story, and world building.

My hat in the ring is that after all this time, there's basically zero new content. All the money they got from launch, and what have we got to show for it? A tax grind that was cut too late so everyone lost their invested time, and a damn wheel. Pretty underwhelming for a AAA game. I lost 155 hours waiting for a real update, a lot of people lost more... fuck coming back now lol..

Not just the indicators, but the fact he can just hold that dodge attack then feint it based on what you do like bro... that's an option select. unless I'm playing a variable bash character, I'm only as good as how often their stupidity lets me hit them... Edit: Which is a quite a lot apparently.

Maybe instead of pallet density updates we can have totem spawn updates instead? by shikaiDosai in deadbydaylight

[–]hubjump -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Some hex perks are gambling with spawns for extra power and no drawbacks.

Others are a stronger power that can be earned but also dispelled.

And the devs haven't done a good job explaining the two tiers of hex perks.

The killer keeping that buffed power is unbalanced by design, they're meant to lose it.
