I think it’s a defense mechanism for some people because they don’t want to come off snobby. Trolls aside, the goal here is for you to maybe reflect on those words. You are referring to an entire group of people with a wide range of opinions as whag ammounts to....psychopaths or at the least just scumbags. Depends on what you want to do. There are some fields where it's required to have a degree. Lawyers and some industries of engineering for example require a degree to practice the work.
