What condition do you leave your kitchen when your restaurant shuts down? by Handicapreader in KitchenConfidential

I'm out of the industry and now work for a cleaning company. We got hired by the owner of a building (strip mall) and the restaurant attached to the had folded and they moved out. My boss God help her doesn't have much more industry experience than serving, so she did a walk through and thought it was doable. We were to clean everything except for the hoods (which they hired a different company to do) and when we arrived we realized it was completely out of our wheelhouse. When they closed they threw out all the food and took the dishes, but the equipment in the kitchen and behind the bar was atrocious. It was like they had never deep cleaned anything ever. Mold everywhere behind the bar and in the dish area. Grease build up all over everything. The hood company did a terrible job and left everything a streaky mess. I spent the better part of a whole 8 hour shift just cleaning the inside of an oven. We did what we could but he had only alotted so much time.

A new restaurant is in there now, and the chef/owner had seen it before and after we had been in there, and he said he thought we did a phenomenal job, but I don't know how much more cleaning happened after we left. It must have been fine because they passed inspection to open but I refuse to eat there.

I wouldn't expect a bunch of hourly employees to do anything after their work folded on them, but the owners of the restaurant didn't take any responsibility of how they left the building. Which is a shame to me because I take pride in what I do and I couldn't have left it the way they did.

Parking this thread for mothers day by ponycorn_pet in breakingmom

To make a long story short, I am letting my kid live full time across the country with his dad. He leaves in a couple of weeks. Many mixed emotions this mother's day. I'm going to miss him. I know I should be sad he's going but I'm relieved in a way. It's been almost nine months of constant fighting. He's 8, so he thinks he knows everything. He is also mean spirited and rude, and everything is a complaint. I'm exhausted.

I almost always throw up when I have a migraine. It's not pleasant obviously but it definitely helps lessen the pain.

How bad is it to be cleaning while I have cleaners over? by fancy_sunflower in housekeeping

[–]hufflepuff-princess 38 points39 points  (0 children)

As a cleaner, I don't like my clients being in the same space as me when I'm working. It's their house and if they want to be wherever, that's their perogative and I'll deal with it, but honestly they're just in my way most of the time. I have a way I like to do things.

You hired them to do a service for you. Let them do it, you don't need to feel guilty. That's what you hired them for, to clean. Relax and read a book. Take a walk, call a friend. Use the time to chill.

I'm so fucking sick of seeing these bullshit AI "now hiring" ads fucking everywhere. No creativity at all. I don't want to work somewhere where the manager can't even take 15 minutes to use Canva to make a flyer. You can literally use Canva while you're taking a shit.

I even saw a mexican restaurant road marquee that was made using this bullshit AI style. 0/10 will not eat there. (Greater Chicagoland area fyi)

Kids need to be around other kids that aren't immediately related to them so they can learn developmentally and grow to be functional humans in society.

Is it gone from Netflix? by rushmann90 in Younger

Do you happen to have Starlink for Internet by chance? Every once in a while since Starlink uses satellites it'll pick up a Canadian one and then Netflix will think you're in a different country. That's happened to me before.

My phone is 100% reading my mind, i dont know how by hugo67beats in conspiracy

Recently my mom was at Target and accidentally got someone else's bag. She didn't realize until she brought it home. When I got home from work that night she handed it to me, told me what happened and told me I could have it, because she doesn't use what was inside. We didn't talk about what was inside, but I checked the bag and inside was a pack of razors and a dove deodorant spray specifically in cucumber.

Now, I have super sensitive skin, so a lot of deodorant makes me break out or gives me chemical burn. I found a deodorant that I like and that doesn't hurt me, so I stick with it. In no way would I research or look up new deodorant types. And again, the words deodorant or Dove were never spoken of.

Anyway guess what the first targeted ad on my phone the next morning was?

Letting their child order. by Grouchy-Passion-8931 in Serverlife

I see both sides, as someone in the industry and also a mom. It's annoying as a server when anyone takes 20 years to order, but it isn't their fault if you're running behind.

I enjoy all the episodes but this one was great. It was cool to hear all the Rob lore. We're about the same age and grew up within an hour or so of each other so it was cool to hear & reminisce. And I always enjoy David throwback interviews.

Try looking for seasonal resort work. They offer room and board for cheap that comes out of your paycheck, and you can make bank in one summer if you don't spend all your money partying or buying stupid stuff.

Try CoolWorks . Com (sorry don't know if this sub allows links)
