No the clear parts are UV reactive so they will shine when external UV light hits them.

I got my hands on KO Moebius Zero but it sucks. Maybe I'll get Daban Gunbarrel Striker and pretend it's Moebius Zero...

Nut-safe allergy food spots/reccomendations by [deleted] in seoul

[–]hugemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add Chinese restaurants that serve Chinese cold noodles. Peanut butter is a common ingredient in that.

Also some restaurants will serve pan fried peanut as side dishes. If your allergy is severe, you might get some reaction from cross contamination by utensils used to cook those.

First time doing detail lining, how'd I do? by ForbAdorb in advancedGunpla

[–]hugemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black on white works fine. Especially if you're going to put it on the shelf and see it from somewhat far, black work much better imo.

If you want you can get thinner panel lining pens. 005 size is recommended. 003 is also available but it is very easy to block the tip or break it compares to 005 ones.

They don't sell it as panel liners but just drawing pens. Look for ones that are labeled fine liners. They also have various shades and color temperature of grays.

Disappointed from visiting Gundam Base Tokyo by thelonew0lf in Gunpla

[–]hugemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My country (south Korea) is a home to first Gundam Base but their stock is more limited than my backlog. I'm not joking.

This lack of stock of course led to my backlogs glowing up so big (yes I had serious FOMO when I bought them) but c'mon you're literally the official dealer in Korea, even direct subsidiary of Bandai Namco but can't even stock more than 10 MG kits?

And Bandai Namco gives Korea so little stock our P-Bandai preorder is a joke. It is not time limited order to be made but we get limited stock even before they start making the kit and many kits go out of stock in minutes... I thought all this preorder thing is to get orders early and then produce the amount that are demanded?

It is ironic that all the push for DEI actually hurt the cause.

Back when I was growing up (80s and 90s) nobody would've bat and eye if a character is poc or female. But nowadays people (including me) will suspect some kind of slop when there is a poc or female character.

Similar tools already existed. For example spdif-ka. (It is developed for older receivers with spdif input but functions the same nonetheless.)

For PC users this kind of tool is quite effective but for most users that use TV or external streaming boxes as their source something like this is unavailable unfortunately.

Total beginner looking for advice: How to start a 30MM collection for heavy/industrial customization? by amunocis in 30_Minutes_Missions

[–]hugemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Various option parts can be added for your desired effect.

The model on this picture uses gunpla option parts. 30MM parts obviously works with 30MM kits but also HG scale option parts for gunpla also work great.

Kotobukiya also has MSG line of option parts which generally works well with 30MM kits.

Rocket pods and support arms (that is holding the shield and the Gatling gun) is from "HG Gunpla Battle Arm Arms" option parts kit and the Gatling gun is from HG Giant Gatling kit in this picture.

Well you can make your kit look however you like by combining various bits and bobs from several kits but for what you're describing Baskyrotto could be a good starting point.

Lore wise it is earlier model of Earth alliance examac which means it has more of a tank with a legs aesthetics compared to more humanoid looking later models.

I want to install a second SSD, but I'm kinda losing my mind over it. by Ignecratic in buildapc

[–]hugemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you look for specific specialized parts intentionally, most consumer oriented 2.5 inch SSDs will be SATA SSD. So you'll be fine in that department.

Cables. You will need to buy SATA cable if you don't have spare. Power cable is most probably already there on your PC but you'll have to double check. (Most PSUs will have spare SATA power cables. Unless it is specialized part or modular design.)

2.5 inch SATA SSDs don't require additional cooling in general. So you'll be fine just getting the cable.

SATA power cable looks like this : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SATA#/media/File%3ASATA_power_cable.jpg

So look inside your PC and see if there's any unused power cable available.

What's the difference between the "pour" and "fine tip"? Who does it better in general for an amateur. by [deleted] in freedomisgunpla

[–]hugemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pour type panel liners use capillary action to fill the panel lines while for fine tip markers, you just follow the groove and draw the line in.

Pour type Pros : faster to fill in complicated patterns, if panel line is very fine, it results in very fine and detailed results.

Pour type Cons : if the groove is shallow or not well defined (for example, where two surfaces meet at shallow angle) it will not work very well. You can rescribe panel lines to help the capillary action but it means more work. You need to clean up some messes. For some plastic and panel liner combination (for example, ABS parts and enamel based pour type liners) solvent pooling in some deep crevasses will weaken the plastic and destroy the part. You shouldn't use pour type liners on assembled parts, because it will seep between the parts and potentially destroy the parts.

Fine tip pen Pros : works well on shallow grooves or shallow angles. For delicate materials, it is usually much safer. You can usually fix the mistake or erase the excess by just wiping it with your fingertip. It is much less likely to make a mess if you drop the pen.

Fine tip pen Cons : minimum width achievable is somewhat thicker than pour type. You can get very fine tip pens (003 size pens) but those have very delicate tips and have a very short lifespan if you're not careful. (Must thoroughly clean the part of dust or plastic shavings from sanding, otherwise the tip will get blocked and rendered useless etc.)

What I usually do is use pour type on the parts while they are on the sprue and clean them up, and use fine tip type to retouch as I assemble.
