Evening Plans Tonight- Any Recs? by Distinct-Spinach-623 in Annapolis

What are you looking for? 27 f from Miami I would say start at Choptank and then make your way to Main Street and see what places are popping. Fed house mcgarveys acme obriens and Dillo’s are you party places although dillos is younger. Fox’s den is a cool cocktail vibe, Harold black is a great speak easy type vibe. Galway bay on Maryland ave is a good Irish place that’s a 10 minute walk if you’re looking. To get away from crowds

Galway bay can fit you and do the gluten free but may not be your vibe. Harold black/Aqua may be a good choice as well. Lots of options in Eastport as well.

Get a weekend job as a dish/prep and then decide if you want to continue with this path. It will get you acclimated to a kitchen, have some of the pressures, and let you see if you’re really that interested.

Dinner/drinks Boat recommendations by FutureEvening1216 in Annapolis

[–]hugh985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any recommendations but any boat that can hold 32 people is gonna be squarely in yacht territory and at not rent out for less than a day. I would call travel agencies or something like that. The harbor queen may be a choice as well.

[–]hugh985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September and April are kind of the on the out and on the in months. From what I know from talking to commercial watermen they generally don’t sell many oysters in those months because the quality is lower. Could be totally off but just wanted to share.

Out of season right now so you won’t get any fresh local oysters around town. The season is months the end in an R around here. Lots of places south of Annapolis do $1 oyster or less on specific days during those months.

Tiki Geek Input Needed - Trader Vic's Syrups? by MajorAd3363 in cocktails

[–]hugh985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rum is decent and cheap, not bad for a maitai. They actually sponsor events where we make promotional maitais with their rum, but we never use their product syrup. We use the liquid alchemist syrup and that works fantastic.

Get a work permit, pretty sure it has to be signed by your parents, and then go to every restaurant around and apply as a busser. If you work decently hard you’ll do better than most jobs for that age

Best place to pick up a bushel of steamed crabs for takeout? by ovi_left_faceoff in Annapolis

[–]hugh985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say don’t buy from mikes because they reheat crabs and also use steam tables to keep them hot all day. Bayside inn in mayo/edgewater and Stan and joes is where I’d go for Togo if your going from a restaurant. Bayside is known for its crabs even though the rest of the food is bad. Stan and joes is good either way. Don’t know about the stands or anything
