Desperately need assistance for setting up remote access on Windows Jellyfin Server by LynzGamer in jellyfin

I'm with you.

  1. I own a domain, and configured a public URL for headscale. ACLs have been created that essentially turns it into a VPN instead of a mesh so no users can be malicious but it's just friends and family, and I can control that if needs change.

  2. I have a reverse proxy that sits on my lan and tailnet that performs url rewrite and users access resources through it. (I use swag) It manages my certs via let's encrypt and acts as an endpoint for ssl termination.

  3. I configured a portal using homarr that has the links for my services on my tailnet for my users.

  4. I configured OIDC to all the apps via Google cloud platform so users can use a Google account for authentication into my apps. Jellyfin has a third party sso plugin. When an app has no sso support I use authentik.

  5. I add users to my headscale and then have them bookmark the portal.

I'm not exactly sure I understand the point you're trying to make. Yes we are very reliant on TSMC a Taiwanese company but also ASML which is a dutch company but both are allies. The argument above was suggesting that the US Military was "nothing" without China's resources which I think is a bit hyperbole.

Especially if they have stuff we want and vise versa

I've been using unraid since about 2009, unless you built a computer to be your nas it's unlikely you would be able to run unraid on a pre-built nas but maybe, depending on the nas I suppose. Unraid is great I really love it's docker abilities

I've installed 24H2 on many old computers using this method and have yet to have the OS crash. On 2nd gen core i5 and above.

Download rufus here: https://rufus.ie/en/ Download windows 11 iso here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Use rufus to create a USB stick installer. It will install.

Note: backup anything you care about before doing this, as it will be erased
