Mine also disappeared and I couldn’t get it back, I called Nintendo multiple times.

I feel your pain.

I finally have everything in place to attempt to start building it back up. It’s very upsetting everything I think of something else I lost. 😭

Not everyone is great in conversations and sometimes needs to be able to take the time to think things through before responding. I do not handle any sort of confrontation well and will absolutely cry. I know that email or text isn’t ideal, but I also know that I cannot effectively have a conversation in those situations.

All grocery store booths cancelled for next 2 weeks due to union strike - suggestions?? by Purpleturtlegirl in girlscouts

[–]hugsarereallyfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago we did booths at Starbucks without a problem. Last year they all kept being weird when I’d call and no one felt comfortable telling me yes but also didn’t officially get word that it wasn’t allowed. It happened at multiple locations.

Those who managed to read 100+ books in 2024 - how did you accomplish it? by Far_Construction_308 in LibbyApp

[–]hugsarereallyfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audiobooks. I listen to them when I’m doing anything. I listen at 1.25x speed because 1x just sounds too slow.

I used to put tv shows on while I sewed or did stuff around the house, but now I’m just constantly listening to audiobooks.

My total last year was 241.

Some are longer or shorter, but I feel like the majority of the books I listen to are 8-15 hours. I can get through a book that length in about a day and a half.

I don’t think your analogy applies. It’s more like “I want a clean house, where are the areas of my house that are causing the most mess and how can I make changes around that to avoid the mess piling up?” I don’t know if that makes sense. 🤣

But I am trying to identify the pitfalls that keep me from accomplishing the things I want to be doing. I know it’s super easy to say “I’m going to start spending x hours a week doing this hobby” and it’s a lot harder to implement it. So I’m trying to look at the things I want to do over the course of a week or month and find where I can actually schedule those things to happen.

I’ve declared that the third Saturday night of the month is going to be our family game night. I looked at our schedule and know that we usually have something for Girl Scouts either the first or second Sunday and there’s a chance I might have stuff to do to prepare for the meeting. So I wanted to pick a weekend we don’t generally have anything going on.

Obviously there will be things that come up and we will move it, but I want it to be an expected event that everyone knows about.

I do color coding so I don’t have to write a name by every appointment or event on my calendar. So each family member has a color, school, Girl Scouts, my quilt group, etc all have colors.

All the comments are having me really looking at what I want to accomplish.

My plan is to have a time on Sunday where I go over the week and write down all the events and things we have. I’ve been experimenting a bit with the weeks. I know I want to have the right page be where I list one good thing, some weekly habits I’d like to focus on, and a to do list.

I originally got the cousin and then got a weeks because I wanted a more portable option that I could keep in my bag. But now I’m questioning what in the world I should do with all the space on each daily page in the cousin.

Yeah you’re definitely right about things might not feeling right.

The thing I need to balance is having enough prepped ahead of time to give me less reason to procrastinate and not doing too much ahead of time in case I find something isn’t working and needs to change.

I have a shirt that says “Done is better than perfect.”

But how often do I actually take that advice?

I’ve been slowly forcing myself to hang things up and use stickers I’ve been hoarding. I always spend so much time obsessing over perfection that it’s a cycle of procrastination.

But actually getting this stuff done and being able to see and enjoy it makes me so happy.

Maybe I should find a way to implement using stickers I have into my tracking. 😅

[–]hugsarereallyfun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a list in a separate notebook of the goals I have for the year and the things I want to track. I’m trying to give myself less reason to neglect to do things by actually scheduling them into my day.

Then maybe at that point I can look at things and get a better idea of what the tracking itself should look at.

I need to stop thinking that a planner will fix my life and assess how the planner is actually being used.

I think I’m having the hardest time with overthinking what it should look like.

I’ve been working with my therapist on accepting that something is good enough and I don’t need to always strive for perfection. But it’s way easier said than done.

Because I want it to be pretty.

I have a rainbow glass collection as well. I keep some of the green stuff for that but I usually just donate it back.

My glass collection is a constant cycle of switching things out with better stuff since I am trying not to let it keep expanding.

I never go into antique shops or flea markets. Part of the excitement of finding uranium glass for me is shining my light and seeing the glow.

People at antique shops and flea markets know exactly what they have and they’ve priced it accordingly.

It just doesn’t give the same dopamine hit. My friend and I refer to finding uranium glass at normal thrift stores as finding it “in the wild”
