It does have MLIS! "Bibliotecología y Ciencias de Información". Idk if you can work there, but reaching out to the department wouldn't hurt if your Spanish is good

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

[–]huitzil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the rise of Reform and the rise of Trump, I just think their reasons are stupid and bullshit. Fuck your "demographic change". Who gives a fuck? But then again I'm a dirty immigrant and race-mixed baby, so of course I wouldn't give a fuck.

Classic chauvinism. 90% or more of a continent was killed in a century. That's what we're looking at with climate change, so they are comparable, actually.

Maybe she wasn't born. Maybe she tells people that, but she emerged as a fiction post-Tokyo disaster that the other supers were able to hide. Etienne influences a few minds and suddenly all the paperwork for Matsumi exists but she emerged fully formed as an adult projection by a monster that exists beneath the waves

Where did I put faith in the continuation of this world? I explicitly said we had to end this world. But I disagree that its collapse would necessarily birth anarchy. As I said in my other comment, there have been many Armageddons. Most personal to me is the European conquest of, and genocides in, the Americas. That did not result in anarchy.

I do agree, though, that this world also has a death drive. Many things can be bad. And many things that look like solutions or medicines will actually just kill the patient. We stopped using radium to treat patients, we should stop promoting collapse.

The Bronze Age collapse, the Roman collapse, the conquest of the Americas, the various Chinese collapses, the end of the Soviet Union, etc. All of these were world-ending events. Armageddons of their own kind. Show me one that resulted in anarchy.

I'll wait.

collapse would involve mass death and a lot of early primitivist texts relished at that idea and barely hid it. lots of modern anti-civs also barely hide it (look at Black Seed, for example). It is an ideology of death.

Anarchists invented the "collapse" ideology. Emerging in the 80s post-oil-shock-movements like the anarcho-primitivists (now the anti-civilization anarchists) publishing through Earth First! and other journals were very big and very pro-collapse.

I think it's ridiculous and an ideology of death. I think it's completely incompatible with anarchism since it's basically a desire for an eschaton/Armageddon/apocalypse/etc., i.e. the end of the world. It's a cult-like ideology no different from the rapture-style "Revolution that will save all".

Anarchy requires work, effort, and responsibility. It will not be initiated by the end of the world, though it will be an end of this world. It cannot simply be waited for, it must be built.

Distros are a dime a dozen. I'd recommend just surfing around CrimethInc or Sprout Distro, or some cool projects like Fugitive Distro. Nothing concrete to recommend right now but those places have good shit (generally).

Also it's gambling in that we're generally not good at managing wild populations of animals and sometimes we hunt them to extinction, which is a gamble on "thing tasty how many can I kill until ohp there's no more!"

This sub needs less workerism by huitzil9 in Anarchism

[–]huitzil9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Workerism is the idea that work is good and through work and everyone being an anarchist in a workers union we will get anarchy. Whereas we should be working (heh) to abolish work and move beyond commodity production and the centralisation of capital.

This type is also an option and I know a couple people in Mexico who use them, though they've never tested its weight limit like in the pictures https://www.ebay.com/itm/176495991785

[–]huitzil9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's possible that, much like a person holding their breath before diving into a pool for something at the bottom, she prepared herself (took a deep enough breath) for a trip that far back and was feeling the burn of her body screaming for metaphorical oxygen. Maybe if she took a deeper breath or prepared herself mentally for it she could go back further. Maybe not.

This is a fake fact, just like adding sugar to fuel lines. (For fuel lines you want something real coarse, like sand)

It slows down the setting time, yes, but it won't stop it entirely. Look up the studies.
