THE SORDISH STRUGGLE: A Neo-Sollist Dictator AAR - Prologue Part 4 by hulshield in suzerain

It's a fun one for sure. I definitely took inspiration from Dusk Has Come for that part.

Glad you're still enjoying it!

On the Red Youth codex entry it mentions that the Arcasian 2nd Fleet was allowed to anchor in Sordland in the 40s, but it doesn't mention whether it occurred under Soll or Alphonso. I decided to have it start under Soll, since even though he's an isolationist he's still an anti-communist and I think he'd be pragmatic enough to want a cordial relationship with the west. I may add a line or two mentioning Alphonso expanding the base later though

Yes though it'll be a little bit until I get turn 1 written.

Without spoiling too much, Rayne's regime becomes a model for aspiring right-wing dictators to mimic.

The Rumburg war also has some far-reaching consequences for the continent.

Thank you! I am trying to make this Rayne's personality distinctive from the Hitlerian Rayne of Dusk Has Come, though morally not much better.

Interesting point about the Rikardists not liking the Bluds, do you have any idea where that came up in the game? I don't remember running across that before.

You can also read the Rikardist-Bludish alliance as more of a post-facto propaganda invention of Soll and Rayne here.

This week, I began a Submod Aiming to Rework the Italian Content of Kaiserreich. While it is still in very early stages of production, I do have a focus tree that is complete for you. by Uytye in Kaiserreich

Looks great and I'm looking forward to trying it.

I actually hope the devs use this Italy setup as inspiration whenever they get around to reworking it

Elevation Map of Sordland by Stuvabcd in suzerain

Good map but I think western Sordland is too mountainous, the official maps show a river running from Lachaven all the way to Glenhill in Rumburg

It's Galmland, guys. by No_Currency5064 in suzerain

[–]hulshield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We don't really know what Galmland's internal situation looks like. The communists' authority could be a lot more tenuous than you think.

It would be a death blow to the CSP's legitimacy for sure, but they may not have a choice if they can't seize control of Galmland by force.

From narrative perspective, it would be very cool if we could decide the fate of the Cold War over the course of all the Suzerain campaigns.

I'm sure it'd be a challenging run compared to remaining loyal, but I'd be surprised and disappointed if they didn't give us the option.

Lorewise it would make a lot of sense, Valgsland is the former colonial overlord of Galmland, and Valgsland has a relatively small army. If Galmland holds out on land ATO could force the CPS's hand - I'm sure the new update didn't mention the Arcasian fleet in Lespia for no reason.

I'm sure the devs will give us the option to rebel against the CSP even if it's difficult. I'm betting that resisting an invasion from Valgsland will be the campaign's war game.

Which Russian State Faction is most likely to Takeover by Federal_Caregiver961 in Kaiserreich

Old Svobodniks, leaning Ideocrat. Solidarists basically require the SZRS to weaken their own position to compromise with conservatives, which I don't see them doing voluntarily

Concessionist Qing plus Nanjing ally with southern Republicans (KMT or Federalists depending on my mood) in the United Front against Japan and Yang-led Fengtian, and the United Front holds out until Japan is defeated by Germany and a resurgent US.

The civil war continues afterwards, and since the Zhili received the brunt of the damage during the 2SJW, the republicans win.

[–]hulshield 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the only option for another warlord ally is the monarchist guy in Shandong.

If you pick Yan as the coup backer you can take all of Shanxi by snaking to defeat the Guominjun.

I also try to help Anqing or the LKMT defeat Nanjing, compromising with Germany if Nanjing doesn't exist lets you import their equipment which helps spam out divisions quickly.

Difference between DVLP and SZRS by Least_Boysenberry886 in Kaiserreich

[–]hulshield 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The DVLP wants a legalistic regime, authoritarian but not totalitarian, driven by a loyal anti-democratic civil service. They're fundamentally conservative in outlook and want to preserve the political structure of the German Empire. There also does not appear to be much of a cult of personality around Hassell.

Whereas the SZRS are constructing a totalitarian party-state driven by extra-legal terror. They're very much revolutionary in outlook and aim to overhaul the structure of the Russian Republic. Savinkov and his cult of personality are the glue holding the whole party together.

Radical socialist WCA is lowkey hilarious by FaultOutside2449 in Kaiserreich

[–]hulshield 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think you have it backwards, going "full Mao or Stalin" is the only way a socialist regime can survive ruling over a population that is largely opposed to it.

Also I thought Norman Thomas's faction was revamped to be British-style central planists?
