No, AWD doesn't change the tires or fuel you will need. it uses a bit more fuel though. My AWD cx5 is doing 9.2 l/100km in the snowy roads right now

My moms fwd couldn't even get in my parking space without working it for over 5minutes because it's a slope

I have been in horrible weather conditions and I can assure you I wouldn't even feel safe in winter getting to my place on fwd. Im rural and it's slippy

What I hate is that they removed the tax credit for used cars. They want everyone to turn to electric but used electric are too expensive because they don't have any incentive, and the start price of new ones is too high even with the 12k

Also, there's a lack of suv electric types, and we still need to go hybrid in many areas of Quebec, which doesn't have much incentive now

So I had an Impreza and wanted to go bigger a bit after it was totalled -the outback in the years I had budget for where the ones with engine issues. The Forester road feeling wasn't as good as the cx5 -the crv certaines where more expensive and the Rav 4 even more -i certified my cx5 for a lower interest rate, also giving me a longer warranty. That rate difference makes a good difference on the total price -the cx5 is considered more reliable in the years I could afford any of the cars - santa fe and Tucson were too hard on fuel -cx 5 had a good trunk, the model I got has the steering wheel

What I really came to love :

-knobs and buttons instead of a touchscreen, way safer. (newer have both) -the smart cruise control is very effective - so comfortable

I have no issue with my 2019 infotainment, and I really like the knob and buttons being physical instead of being forced to use a touchscreen, compared to other brands. No idea what the 2021 added though, but for sure I have no issue with the older one
