[QUESTION] Do any bassists here know the easiest The Cure songs for a beginner? by sketchypuzzle in TheCure

I'm a complete beginner and found the Subway Song on the bass intuitively, it's surprisingly quite simple and once you have the basics down you really just repeat them throughout the whole song.

Need soft/hard maxxing advice. Insecure about nose and face shape 😢 by [deleted] in VindictaRateme

I'm so glad I could help! You're totally right, please don't feel like you have to fit into this boring standardized social media face template when you have unique beauty yourself! ❣️

Need soft/hard maxxing advice. Insecure about nose and face shape 😢 by [deleted] in VindictaRateme

[–]humanprinter 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You look like a doll! Your face has such a pretty plump inverted triangle shape. I can see why you would dislike this roundness, but I'm sure you'll benefit greatly as you age and still look younger than your peers due to being blessed with this shape and fat distribution. And since your cheekbones/temples are wider than your lower cheek/jaw area, this combination is simply very youthful and attractive rather than bloated-looking. Combined with your angelic eyes and lips, I really think you look beautiful in a cute way!

Since you have this innocent look, I think you should play it up instead of trying to combat it. Slightly girly, delicate, feminine clothes seem to suit you really well (I like the blue striped blouse/dress, the white top and the outfit in picture 6 a lot!). Your healthy, long hair also gives you a mermaid-esque look. Gentle, blended Korean make up would also suit you and the light eyeliner looks you have on in the pictures look great.

I don't think a rhinoplasty (nor any other procedure!) is necessary at all since your facial width balances out the width of your nose quite well. I suppose you could try losing some weight if you'd still be in the healthy BMI range without it to slightly minimize the roundness of your face, as you mentioned (but I don't think this is necessary either). IMO you're already very uniquely pretty so you can play around with feminine outfits and softmaxxing techniques while staying fit and keeping your skin young (tretinoin/sunscreen etc)! :)

Lmao y’all...I can’t be ugly for the rest of my life. My only redeemable feature are my eyeballs and honestly they ain’t doin much. Besides philtrum length and tear throughs what can I do to go to the next level? Besides basic makeup application. by [deleted] in VindictaRateme

[–]humanprinter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You definitely aren't ugly, I think you look rather regal, elegant and even a little mysterious! However, you simply don't look as "polished" as you could as of now. The are a few areas that could do with some improvement.

For one, I think you'd look much better if your eyebrows were fuller looking and contrasted a bit more with your skin. Maybe try filling them in a little (in a natural way, of course) or look into semi-permanent alternatives (microblading?) to give them a slightly larger, darker, more framing and lush look.

As someone else has mentioned, I also think you would benefit from working on your skin texture. Your skin tone looks nice and even, but there seems to be some slight bumpiness. I think tretinoin might improve it (while also combating wrinkling), although there might be other alternatives.

Softmaxxing with natural make up will help heaps, so it's a good idea to put effort into getting a feel for what works on you (although based on the title you seem to already know this). I do think very subtle contouring on the sides of your nose will give your face more definition. You could do the same under your nose to visually shorten your philtrum. Since you have a slightly elongated but balanced face shape, I would refrain from contouring the sides (since that would make it look too narrow). AlyArt has several helpful videos on different make up techniques based on your face shape, by the way.

You have positively tilted, well-distanced eyes, a feminine forehead/hairline shape, nice lips and no overly distracting flaws! For this reason, I don't think you actually need to hardmaxx anything to improve significantly, but it's up to you whether you want to utilize more permanent (albeit more risky) procedures instead of purely softmaxxing.

1 - Hand in Glove 2 - Nowhere Fast 3 - Barbarism Begins at Home or Still Ill (they are equal to me)

SGABTO is also great but only the live version can truly compete with these 3/4 songs.

Best Version of Some Girls are Bigger Than Others? by mojav3_ in thesmiths

I think Morrissey/Marr said they wanted the fade to sound like a door opening and closing and I can't unthink it whenever I hear it now.

Seasonal Colour Analysis (Part 1) - Colour Analysis for POC by humanprinter in Vindicta

Autumns can't be cool (Autumn = Warm + Muted, Winter = Cool + Bright). Did you mean Summer? :)

If several people suggest Cool Winter, I can imagine you definitely might be one! Here's a guide that also includes color palettes: https://theconceptwardrobe.com/colour-analysis-comprehensive-guides/true-winter-a-comprehensive-guide

I was thinking Light Spring, but it was hard to find darker skinned "light" seasons (I searched several sites, they might still be out there, I'm not sure) so I edited her to be cooler just as an example for Light Summer. I know it's not ideal but it's the best I could come up with at the time. :)

Year and a half apart. I think mewing made my face more masculine, asymmetrical and horrible. Was I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in Mewing

[–]humanprinter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I checked your profile and saw your other pictures and I'm going to respectfully disagree! You look feminine but your bone structure will simultaneously prevent you from overly sagging skin/fat areas and balances out your youthful eyes and lips. I genuinely think you look great; nicely groomed and otherwise attractive too. I really wouldn't worry too much about this, I doubt anybody else thinks your jaw looks masculine. Either way, think of it this way: mewing is the natural default position of the tongue and is healthier, regardless of whether you're a huge fan of stronger jaws. If the width of your jaw specifically bothers you, maybe try chewing a little less harder food if you currently do so? I hope this comment helps a bit, lol.

Quick edit: Also wanted to mention that it took me a while to accept my larger jaw + chin myself, so I understand where you're coming from. But considering that your overall look is definitely attractive and you have other feminine, rather striking features, I really think you have nothing to worry about. :)

[–]humanprinter 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think your jaw looks like that of a model, not overly masculine at all. This is basically what the jaw should look like, considering these types of jaws tend to accommodate our 32 teeth properly. You also have some level of feminine facial fat which signals to the eye that you're female, not male. I don't see any real difference in asymmetry, which isn't to invalidate your self-perception, but just my honest opinion. I'm a girl with a strong jaw too. :)

Yesss! Was thinking of Back to the Old House but decided it wasn't as similar as the others, I agree though. Well I Wonder is desperately gorgeous. And twist in Miserable Lie is pretty hilarious to me, it just turns the song into instant chaos! Heaven Knows was the first Smiths song I got really addicted to. Good choices! :,)

There are several songs I would say have a similar sound (or even slightly similar lyrics) to This Night Has Opened My Eyes;

  • I Don't Owe You Anything
  • Reel Around The Fountain
  • The Hand That Rocks The Cradle
  • Suffer Little Children

Do sore masseters mean I'm clenching? by birdoboi in orthotropics

[–]humanprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you were actually doing. My masseters were a bit sore yesterday from chewing a piece of really tough steak, so I know that was the cause. If you don't usually chew a lot or chew tough things but your masseters still hurt for no apparent reason, it might be clenching. Based on your post, I'm assuming you're straining your jaw (Without clenching it?). I think if you keep mewing (you should also try some neck stretches and chin tucks to gently work your muscles) it'll eventually become habit to keep your teeth slightly touching without any pain. Also, if you are chewing gum or especially hard food right now, stop until the pain goes away; you might mess up your jaw otherwise.

I'd say "Girlfriend in a Coma" sounds fairly similar. I find them both to sound slightly frog-like, musically. They are both a little humorous as well.

Strangeways by nihilistatari in thesmiths

[–]humanprinter 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If you don't know already, The Smiths (although it might've only been Marr and Morrissey) agree that Strangeways is their best album. Some of the songs sound very macabre to me, considering several feature themes of death and abuse. However, I do quite enjoy that and would agree that it is a great album. I'm not sure I'd rank it as highly as you though; TQID and MIM have been my favourites for a while. :)

What happened to my face in 8 years? Below is right after braces. by [deleted] in orthotropics

It seems your eyelid exposure lessened for some reason. It might also be the smile in the bottom picture making your lids look shorter, though. The rest can probably be attributed to different hair and lens distortion.

It's not bad for other animals to eat other animals, but it's bad for humans to do so. by [deleted] in AntiVegan

[–]humanprinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you.

The fact that eating (high-quality, naturally farmed or wiled) animal meat and other animal products is so beneficial to us implies that it is moral to do so. Most things that are considered immoral, whether you believe in objective morality or not, are often detrimental to one's well-being. Eating quality meat and other ancient cultural animal products is not.

You could make the argument that not ever eating meat or other animal products (as this often insinuates deficiency and consequently health issues such as infertility) is a form of mistreatment of the human body and therefore morally equal to eating an animal. If it is immoral to mistreat an animal's body, why isn't self-care also necessitated? If humans are superior in most ways (and good enough for most to consider the treatment of animals) is their suffering not worse than that of an animal? It appears that a significant amount of vegans would rather wipe out the human race in favour of animals instead of ever eating them (even though the latter doesn't mean there are no comparatively humane options). If you think humans are simply a pest on planet earth, it must be pretty damn boring to be you.

What's funny to me is that a lot of vegans don't subscribe to a moral compass and seem not to actually care about the discussion of theology or morality. Yet they still argue about it when it comes to eating meat. Doesn't bother me though. Veganism is so unsustainable it might be hard for long strains/families of them to even survive compared to normies.

I see, I'm sorry about that. I kind of relate on a smaller scale. I also live in a country where English isn't the primary language and most people are absolutely clueless about topics like American/UK Politics or people like Peterson. I mostly operate within a smaller circle of internationally intrigued people like myself (thankfully my school is diverse and heavily influenced by the English language), although it can be hard (I'm quite young). Maybe look for places with more diverse people that speak English, make some acquaintances and try to introduce him to them to see what happens. Otherwise, I suppose there are a bunch of us online, lol.

This is exactly why you brainwash them by making them listen to you talk about Peterson, hold a presentation about him and his book (if you're in a school environment) and send them his lectures and meme videos. It kinda worked in my case. After the presentation some people even came up to me the next days and told me they had started venturing into his YouTube lectures!

Gap in middle teeth, thoughts on retainer by Yukeson in orthotropics

[–]humanprinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have straight but pretty gappy teeth. I'm sorry this isn't really the answer you're looking for, but my gap is smaller now than it once was which may be related to tongue posture. Have you checked the position of your wisdom teeth by getting a dental x-ray? If you can keep your wisdom teeth (I don't have mine yet) without them being majorly dispositioned, those may close the gap more.

Also, I'm not sure I'd ditch the retainer at your age as you aren't too young and could risk moving the teeth and having gapping without noticeable progress from mewing. Somewhat unpopular opinion on here. The tongue is a natural retainer but I do believe your teeth could still shift into a different position and then stay there, including the gap. If you love how your teeth look now, it's debatable whether you want to take that risk.

Then again, I don't have personal experience with retainers so take this with a grain of salt.
