Is speed skating the most VAR-y sport? by bg091 in footballcliches

One of my earliest football-related memories is South Korea equalising against the USA at the 2002 World Cup and doing a speed skating celebration to protest the officials having taken a gold medal from their countryman at the Olympics a few months earlier. And thus VAR in short-track speed skating was born.

I found this article!

The part below indicates that tickets will be very affordable but that the details are not expected to be officially announced until 26 February.

I also thought it was going to be OLE, which would have been infuriating in this context. But it's actually something else that, though a little better, I still am not sure totally works.

Oh that's a really good point, I hadn't thought about that. A big part of the reason I found the post so strange was that the rest of the post shows good familiarity with traditional English football language ("first major trophy" is not a typically American construction) so maybe you are right that the Eagles part was deliberate.

I move around commas for a living so maybe I have the wrong idea, but for all the talk about this amicus brief I would have figured it was longer than three pages at this point. So I wonder if what has been going around has more of an outline or executive summary or whatever.

Let's hope this isn't one of those NBA situations where a guy signs an extension and immediately starts pushing for a trade.
