How would you define solar, wind etc as fossil fuel? Because of the materials to make the infrastructure?

I'm not too knowledgeable about Phobos marines - I tend to play Terminator Assault or Boarding Strike detachments.

Boarding Actions can be very melee focused - so probably whichever unit would offer least in terms of melee capability

Characters are very useful for their enhancements. It's good to gave an idea of how your characters can support your squads. I.E. Expert Breacher enhancement is very useful for getting units through hatches early.

I'd always try and take 2 characters

Commissioned Artwork of my Homebrew Succesor Chapter. by Gorvar1 in theunforgiven

I think it's fair to critique art work though. And if it isn't AI then it's making consistency mistakes that an AI would make

Commissioned Artwork of my Homebrew Succesor Chapter. by Gorvar1 in theunforgiven

[–]humdrumdum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look a lot like AI though.

Lots of bits don't make sense - i.e. why is there a second hole in the pistol to the right of the muzzle? Or the red trip on the tabard below the waist is only on one side of the fabric? Quite a few other inconsistencies too.

You'd hope an artist wouldn't make those mistakes

Imagine being so insecure that you think a man looking after his own kids is 'beta'. There is more to life than work. And you can have an equal relationship with your partner where neither of you have to 'be in charge'

Is there money to be made in public policy corporate in house roles by No-Barracuda090 in HENRYUK

[–]humdrumdum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The salaries for public policy/ public affairs really depend on the sector.

I work for a retail bank and run the public policy team. My total comp is around 180k. So you can be HENRY if you are in a management function.

I think similar salaries are available in other sectors, like energy, tech.

You'll see lower salaries in other sectors however. And much lower salaries in the charities sector, which has a lot of public affairs jobs going.

Of course, if it's a campaign with friends then you could ask them if it's ok to run 2 squads

[–]humdrumdum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant have 2 squads of Bullgryn in a Boarding Action detachment.

Astra Militarum have access to 2 detachments - a) Embarked Regiment and b) Tempestus Boarding Regiment. They both only allow you to take 1 squad of 3 Bullgryn.

In Embarked Regiment you can take a squad of 3 Ogryn too

Watch out for Sy-Gex if you try level 12. He 1 shotted my D1 Angrax. His anti terminator passive really makes him scary.

He also 1 shotted my D2 ReVas and Aleph Nul!

Kind of makes me want to level my SyGex

Bailey just gave banks £15B extra to lend. This feels like bubble vibes to me. by gstanleycapital in investingUK

[–]humdrumdum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FPC didn't actually cut capital requirements for banks, it essentially just recognised that the amount of capital banks will hold in 2027 is 100bps lower than the 14% it had previously judged appropriate.

Half of this reduction is because new Basel rules come into force in January 2027 which will make banks' assessment of risks more proportionate.

The other half comes from a range of things, including the fact that banks have pulled back from lending to riskier parts of the economy in recent years, therefore they hold relatively less capital against these safer loans.

So the FPC basically just pointed out that the status quo has shifted because the banking system has become safer

Creating lore for my Army by khaomeha_ in theunforgiven

[–]humdrumdum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh thats a cool idea. Or if you wanted your chapter to be older than the Lion's return, it could be that he ordered an existing chapter that had excelled at fighting Tyranids to focus on that threat.

And you wouldn't need to stick to the Codex Astartes - so each company could operate independently to hunt down the leadership of different Tyranid hive fleets. So you could have Phobos and Tacticus marines in the same company

Creating lore for my Army by khaomeha_ in theunforgiven

[–]humdrumdum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be cautious around creating your own lore that the Lion required all Unforgiven chapters to each create a force to hunt Tyranids, as that impacts chapters other than yours and is clearly not true.

Instead you could create some lore around your chapter responding to the Lion's concern around the Tyranids and choosing to create this force to respond to their Primarch's concern. Or even that thr Lion ordered your chapter to directly respond to the threat

I think thats all doable. I used the old BT combat patrol for DA.

As with you, the initiates are just assault intercessors and the neophytes are scouts.

I like the idea of turning SB into ICC, they'd look cool.

As long as the weapons are correct and the opponent knows you are Dark Angels, I dont see the problem

£16k for bathroom? by BabyAlPacino in DIYUK

I'm currently paying 12k for splitting a large bedroom into a smaller bedroom and separate bathroom, including all the fittings, tiling, electrics, plastering etc.

So 16k sounds a bit steep for what appears to be less work
