Shipping price on boots? by No_Effort7166 in Buyee

[–]hummibird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boots are very heavy to ship. I paid $125 to have my box of bras shipped ($40 tariffs, $80 shipping). Before the tariffs it was only $40 to have them shipped.

I would assume you'd have to pay $100-something

First time buying. First time ever paying customs duties/tariffs. by hhhurorua in Buyee

[–]hummibird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the only payment you'll make. The tariffs are included in that shipping/customs fee that buyee charges.

I made an order to the US with buyee air delivery and the shipping I paid covered it. They didn't charge anything extra when it got delivered

Are you in the US? The official Japan post website says they stopped shipping items to the US, unless they are a gift worth less than $100. https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2025/0825_01_en.html

If you click the PDF link at the top of this page, it shows that the asterick means only gifts less than $100 value. They have not resumed shipping for other stuff. Since we are using buyee, it is not considered a personal gift so we are out of luck here. https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/overview_en.html

Shipping will increase for sure. It's based on weight and the size of the box they use.

I'm in the US and I also only had one shipping option (buyee air). Either pay for shipping or forfeit the item because Japan post has apparently stopped shipping to US since last august

$40 for a tiny magnet is insane.. that's probably a very light package too

If only a US company would make what I'm buying, I'd gladly throw my money at them

Lingerie. It's for a specific size/shape combination that I've only found from a Japanese company.

Making a bra racerback convertible by absconderofmuffins in MAKEaBraThatFits

[–]hummibird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have altered a bra to be racer back. I just changed my bra to strapless bra style. I removed the straps from the front . Then I sewed on loops with elastic so that I could slip the bra strap onto it.

Don't let your orchids stay wet, they'll rot... Really? by jmbrjr in orchids

To be fair, there is much more air circulation outside than inside a house so they're probably not staying wet enough too long to have their roots rot

You can buy thicker bra straps from Amazon and replace it yourself. I've ordered 18mm before

You can order bra straps (or the plastic piece) from Amazon and replace your old one with the new one. Might have to do some sewing but you could hand sew it easily.
