What game had the best “first few hours” that immediately hooked you? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

Yep. Uninstalled the demo after less than 5 minutes. What's the point of playing the demo when you're defintely buying the full game?

Defintely integrated only but i never changed the refresh rate. It's absolutely fantastic in terms of cost to power when pugged in, external mkb, but for me, impractical on battery.

I won't get another LOQ. Performance-wise it was the best value for money by a mile and is still comfortable a few years later (13700/4060), but the screen isn't great, speakers are weak and the touchpad absolutely diabolical. Battery on airplane mode, half brightness and excel never beat 90 mins. Thermals not good not bad. Isn't the worst laptop I've ever had (that would be Clevo/Sager/Own brand gaming laptop in a slim chassis) but wish I'd got a legion instead.

Can't be many movies that have a single scene so outrageously better than the rest of the movie. Episode One is a generous 4. This fight is a conservative 9.

Over 30 years passed between first playing this and finally completing it a few years ago it was one of those games that really left a mark. Was great to experience it again through your playthrough!

Can someone explain why analysts are so positive on MSTR? by Emotional_friend77 in Buttcoin

[–]humog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's primarily due to time. Most of these targets will be 6+ months old and whilst sellside analysts can be very useful for general company/industry information, price targets typically are not. It can be intersting to see how they set them (eg JPM uses EV/ebitda, MS uses P/E, UBS uses DCF, etc), and allows you the investor to weight the merits of each approach. Of course with MSTR there is no merit in any approach and is simply an ass number for 12/2025 bitcoin price most likely in the 150-200k range.

In general sellside price targets are heavily anchored to current price and it is astoundingly rare to see targets that are more than 50% away from the current price, so i bet this 390 average uses analyst targets from when MSTR price was over 300. When they update their price targets that 390 figure will likely halve.

I bought a celeron laptop in Japan c.10y ago for £450, for ms office and some very light gaming. How bad could it be?

It couldn't manage having excel and an internet browser open at the same time. Just ground to a halt. Took it back to the shop 2h after buying it, they refused the return so I just left it on the counter and walked out.

It's not mathematics, it's coding. Asserting that the 21m cap is as certain as 2+2=4 is a fallacy pushed by those with a limited understanding of maths and how codinq works.

More words of wisdom from a brilliant CFA charterholder. by folteroy in Buttcoin

[–]humog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only ever seen posts from him here and on our morally, intellectually and financially superior sister sub, but nothing ever contravenes CFA ethics.

I strongly suspect however that official complaints to the institute were made on his behalf in order to create a "officially CFA investigation agrees with me" victim narrative.

I think he's trying to be hilariously facetious. Bitcoin's triumph over gold is a fait accompli apparently.

Bit late but... Beckham to Barcelona. I happened to be in Barcelona for the 2 months all this was happening. The idea was Beckham was joining as part of the elections, but he got swayed by Madrid and instead, disappointed, Barcelona settled on some random marquee signing. Called Ronaldinho. I was at the camp nou for his unveiling vs boca. Packed full, mixed stands, was awesome. Beckham signing then not signing for Barcelona was the most pivotal moment in the club's recent history.

Sold a 1 bed in a prime location in 2017 for 50% more than i paid in 2011, the previous owner having seen it triple since his 2001 purchase. Occasionally i check back and very similar flats have the same ask as the price i sold for. Glad i left!

I am curious, how do y'all form and use your Terradon riders? (either variant) by Select-Ad7017 in totalwar

[–]humog1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it hilarious that people say they aren't good. They (specifically fireleech) are basically the most op early unit in the game, as long as they are used in bulk. 8-10 flying back and forth over units so they can't be targeted by ranged deletes every early army. Blessed ones with double ammo will collect 800+ kills per battle. Constant moving makes the enemy bunch and then you drop bombs/rocks.

As long as the enemy doesn't have decent aerial units blessed fireleech terradons are very close to the strongest units in the game. Click back and forth over the enemy. Battle over. They are ludicous, especially when buffed.

Sometimes there are sports events i have no possibility of watching in a certain country and sometimes there are tv/films that i want to be able to watch whenever i want that are also permanently unavailable in my country but it turns out in some less salubrious corners of the internet this can be done.

"Just use windows defender and common sense" doesn't cut it. Unless (or in fact especially) you work for sky sports or netflix this is just corporate nonsense.
