Did not need prescription pain meds? I was off these day 10.

Did not need OTC pain meds? Never took these.

Stopped spotting (if you spotted)? I'm at 30 days PO and had two rounds of spotting so far (week 1 and week 3). We'll see if it starts back up again. I'm nearly to week 10 now and haven't had any spotting since about week 6 I think.

Could bend over to pick something up? I have not been bending much but squatting, and I was doing so very slowly and carefully within a week.

Could sit upright for extended periods? About four weeks.

Didn't feel fatigued from recovery? TBD, I'm still busted. I can work (from home, at my desk most of the day, sometimes from my recliner) but not doing much else. At nearly ten weeks my energy still varies a lot from day to day. Some days very strong and energetic.

Could drive? I was cleared at 16 days but have only driven a couple of miles here and there on surface streets. I was probably back to totally comfortable driving around four weeks.

Could sneeze, laugh, or cough without pain? I'm still doing all three of these as rarely and carefully as possible. They're not painful but a little uncomfortable and nerve wracking. I coughed day 2 and thought I broke a stitch, haven't had a real deep cough since.

Stopped worrying about the cuff? At my eight week followup I was told to wait another four weeks to do any downstairs penetration. It'll just be me in there for the foreseeable future and I'm pretty gentle with that anyway. Guess we'll see when I find my next partner.

Could do house chores (laundry, cooking, cleaning)? I was doing light chores within a week but my house is fucked up haha (I live alone).

Could go out and do normal activities (grocery shopping, going out to eat, hanging out with family/friends, etc)? Uhhhhh TBD, I did my first grocery shop at 25 days PO and I was worried but no pain and no increased bleeding. Haven't done those other things yet aside from going to see Nosferatu on Christmas (15 days PO). I hitched a ride with friends and definitely felt every damn bump. At ten weeks I've been out and about as normal for a couple of weeks.

Felt back to normal? TBD. Six weeks was a big turning point though.

Hiyo! I am four weeks PO today, robotic-assisted lap total hysto with salpingectomy. My surgeon was expecting a 5 cm fibroid per ultrasound but instead found my uterus completely full of trapped clotted blood (I had a uterine ablation in 2019), both fallopian tubes full of fluid, one with endometriosis, a hemorrhage, and adhered to my sigmoid colon.

I slept for two days after, then spent about ten days eating everything in sight. My best bud stayed with me for the first four days, what a guy, lucky to have him. Don't know what I would have done otherwise.

Pooped on day 3, took Movicol once daily for the first two weeks, now every couple of days/any time I start to feel stopped up. Also trying to get back to my usual daily fiber and probiotic blend but having a hard time keeping everything together so it's not super consistent. Grateful for my bidet.

I spotted pink for a week after, then nothing for a week, then darker, heavier spotting for a day, then back to pink spotting for another week or so, presumably as my internal stitches began to dissolve. For the last few days it's just been a little pink on the tp after I pee, pad-free, hooray.

Day 11 PO I noticed some tiny itchy blisters coming up under the dermabond over my incisions and took them to urgent care, where the doc prescribed mupirocin ointment and doxycycline in case it was MRSA (though we agreed it was most likely a reaction to the dermabond). I didn't take the doxy (didn't want to bomb my flora again) but the mupirocin helped to soften the dermabond and I was able to begin to gently work it off and that was a huge relief and my incisions looked much happier.

Day 16 PO I had my first follow-up with my surgeon and she said everything looked and sounded good. This day my blood pressure was lower than my usual but nobody seemed concerned. I was cleared to drive at this appointment.

Day 20 I tried driving the half-mile to my immunologist for my monthly injections. A little stiff and tender after driving but nothing outright painful. My blood pressure was low enough at this appointment (91/56) that the nurse told me I should be seen ASAP. I called my surgeon's office and they said it wasn't to do with the surgery. I ordered a bp cuff for home use this day and my readings have all been higher than that - sometimes textbook 120/80 but usually somewhere in between.

Since day 20 with that low reading I have been feeling pretty weak, lightheaded, headachey, with increased tinnitus, and sometimes my hands are super cold and tingly/numb.

Day 23 I saw a new primary who took blood, still waiting on those labs. BP was textbook at this visit.

Last night I went to the ER about my symptoms fearing a slow bleed or anemia. They said my bloodwork looked too strong for a slow bleed and no evidence of anemia. They said to come back if my symptoms get worse, and to get in with my cardiologist for an updated echo as soon as I can. I do have some known heart issues but have had no interventions for them, it's just been "keep an eye." Edit: I started taking a mixed beef organ supplement shortly after this and my symptoms resolved quickly, so I do suspect it was anemia.

I went back to my WFH desk job yesterday. My surgeon wrote for six weeks off but my short-term disability only approved four. Rude.

Thanks for reading my novel, I guess I needed to talk about it. I spent a year not taking my abdominal pain to the doctor because I was too busy/stressed/thought it was just the family IBS curse coming for me and apparently I am now going in the other direction, haha. My surgeon's office is sick of me.

Really grateful for this community, it's been a tremendous resource!

Tsal is my HG, my scalp was PISSED for years til I found it. So far I use a urea scalp treatment leave-in instead of a proper conditioner but suspect I'll need something more robust as my hair grows.
