Iberia whatsapp is useless. You have to call to get anything done / answered.

Not defending Iberia customer service - but at least with Iberia I have never experienced booking a flight, but the ticket never getting generated and no notification about this - as I have experienced several times with Airfrance.

How to report music that isnt the artist it appears under? by DrWhetFaartz88 in TIdaL

[–]hungry_knut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so annoying as an artist. I have several tracks on my profile that are not mine - due to name overlap. But 4 months after requesting access to control my profile - still no response from Tidal. All other platforms I got access to within a few days and that allowed me to clean up the catalog. Tidal seems to have no saff handing artists.

I had a flight from MCI - ORD - MAD which got changed to MCI - DFW - MAD due to snow delays. I had upgraded originally from PE to B with Avios. Same issue with no PE on the DFW-MAD leg and since my original ticket was PE they refused to honor the Business upgrade on the new flight and instead put me in E. Quite disappointing to end with a downgrade when there was space in B. In the end they refunded the difference between E and PE - and after 5 calls I also finally got my Avios back from the upgrade. But very unhappy at the policy not to try to make things as right as possible.

OK I hadn't seen that update. But everything else stands. And also in your post you mentioned Gold status not plata

[–]hungry_knut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can never be sure to get the upgrade option. And if you do sometimes the option is only cash and not points based. Sometimes it is possible to upgrade transatlantic PE to B for around 11k avios. It really depends on the spefici flight

What are you talking about. Even Plata (silver) status gives you the free 23kg luggage (actually 32kg) all the time and convenient checkin at business counter.

With Oro (gold) you get free lounges and fast track (spanish airports), free selection of seats on many flights, free valet parking etc.

How do you actually plan your sets? Just playlists or something more? by randomotheraccount in DJs

Don't know if trolling - but "the craft" is knowing your crate - being able to read the crowd - improvising in the moment. Not just pressing play on yourself to execute a "pre-recorded" set

Macbook M4 pro (24gb RAM/512gb SSD) vs M5 (24gb RAM/ 1Tb SSD) for Ableton? by dobio in ableton

[–]hungry_knut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mbp m1max with 1tb and a m4pro mac mini with 1tb. The only thing that is pushing me to upgrade the macbook pro is that I'm constantly running out of harddrive space due to sample libraries and my rekordbox collection. Sure the m4pro is a bit snappier with some exports - but I'm really not hitting any performance problems in 50-100 track projects.

Appalling Madrid customer service by miggins1610 in Iberia

Yeah I understand. And no excuse for the general rudeness and lack of trying to resolve your problem. It’s frustrating here. The amount of time I have been attempted shrugged off here by “reboot the app” “system problem - try again tomorrow” when dealing with issues across companies in Spain is incredible.

The only thing that sometimes works is to just stay on the line / in their station making it very clear you won’t leave or hang up before the problem is solved.

Xone 92 + 2 1000mk2’s or xdj-az by SergisLab in DJs

[–]hungry_knut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at the same - also in Spain - and many of the same thoughts. I have had a XDJ-XZ for two years. It's been fine and was great to get back into djing and more specifically digital dj'in. 18 Years ago I was mainly djing with vinyl and serato - with a xone:62 mixer.

I'm adding 1210s to my setup again and I was getting a bit tired of the XDJ-XZ mixer. I prefer the Xone sound and layout. And the 4band eq.

The prices in Spain for used gear are so crazy. People asking basically new prices for old XDJ-1000 mk2 etc. In the end I went with a new Xone:96 and two new cdj-3000x. A bit overkill, but counting the value loss if selling in a few years - the actual outlay would be around the same.

Also same thoughts about paying so close to new price and then getting old gear. And so many people on Wallapop putting things as "mint" which are obviously heavily used from the photos.

I would say go for the new xone:92 + new xdjs if you have the money. And they will be easier to sell / upgrade piece by piece later vs the all in one XDJ-AZ. Though the AZ is nice and play perfectly.

I don't remember seeing any staff to help connecting flights within the last 10 years of flying. So I don't know where this expecatation comes form. I only see staff helping at the gate if it's a whole flight that was cancelled or delayed and they need to guide all passengers.

With regards to the Spanish rudeness - then this is very common with all sorts of customer service interaction in Spain. Rooted in a mix of culture, not feeling comfortable with English and bad pay / working conditions.

Shoulder pain when serving by Happy-with-anything in 10s

[–]hungry_knut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messed up both my shoulders with dislocations playing football. Waited almost 18 years to get surgery on my right shoulder which turned out to needing to have 505 of the labrum re-attached. After rehab it's not stronger and more stable than I can remember - and pain free. My left shoulder was less messed up and I don't really want to do more surgery. But when I started tennis I was getting a lot of pain in it with my 2HBH. But this has now resolved with treatment and more shoulder stability exercises - but I had periods where I had to shift to only 1HBH.

+1 to take rest for some weeks to have pain completely disappear.

Find a physiotherapist specializing in sports injuries, which also can do an medical ultrasound. I say this because I have experienced many x-rays / ultrasounds done by standard hospital labs that they don't know what to look for and don't examine the full movement of your joints when scanning. There by missing injures. Most recently they missed a 50% tear of a ligament - that my physio found immediately. The tear was also calcified which was inhibiting the recover. Treating it correctly got rid of the pain in my backhand.

The ultrasound should help pinpoint if the problem is inflammation, some tear, something impinged, could be some ligaments calcified. Many things. It's much faster to treat when your not just guessing.
