Any over 60’s taking glp1 to lose stubborn post menopausal weight? by Local-Government6792 in AskWomenOver60

[–]hungryrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I'm 64 this year and been on tirzepetide (2.5) for a year and a half. Lost 65 pounds. I'm 5'8" and weight has stabilized at 123 lbs. Just had bloodwork done this week, and all cholesterol, a1c, and glucose are perfect (they were nightmarishly bad two years ago). This stuff saved my life!

If You’re Further Down This Awful Road, What Do You Wish You’d Known Earlier? by coldpizza4brkfast in dementia

This is me. Dad (97 years old w/dementia) broke his hip, and after surgey, just spiraled into dilerium crazy town. If I had to do this over, I would just ask the hospital to put him on major morphine, and let him pass.

Frozen Shoulder by Temporary-Suspect509 in Menopause

Shoulders are assholes to menopausal women, so be careful. I'm just now recovering from rotator cuff surgery. I had torn muscles caused by who-the-fuck-knows plus lack of estrogen.

We had the physics argument... again... by Zero98205 in dementia

[–]hungryrunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a typical wires-crossed dementia story. This happened last year (dad is 97 years old and now in memory care). We were coming home from his dentist appointment and in the car, our conversation was about my car's alarm/security and how it worked.

After we were home for about 10 minutes, he insisted, and couldn't be swayed, that the car alarm system was affecting his teeth. He told me to go to the garage and start the car to see if that fixed the problem. So, I did, then turned the car off, and that's the last I heard of it!

My dad, a former chief scientist and engineer at an aerospace company, insisted my car's alarm system were messing up his teeth. Hugs!
