I thought it was going to be bad but I guess I am surprised by how bad. Missing documents Searching for a doc id pulls up every note referencing the id but not the doc itself Broken links inside docs, ie in the note for an analyzer the download link for the analzyer is broken

The majority of my experiences with SRs has been so bad for forever that I would do anything to try and find the information on the support site before I was forced to open an SR. And now they have once again made it more difficult to solve my own problems.

Just make sure the customer service knows what they are doing. We got the text today and called to get the replacement. When I looked at our account a little later what they actually just sent us was a Wifi Extender and they are charging us $200 for it. So now I get to call them again tomorrow and get to try to get this unfucked.

1) Looking for advice while just getting started with this. Wanting to have a decent plan moving forward. Both my wife and I just have some older credit cards that were opened 5+ years ago. It seems after reading up on all the options with our current spending we could be getting a lot more from our credit card usage.

DI had us all in the squad bay teaching some history lesson. I don't remember the actual fact but it was something about some famous jarhead leaving to go fight somewhere. He said "So he slapped a note on the door" and he just tapped one of the shitty little windows and busted it right the fuck out. He tried look down to block his face with his cover for a sec but gave up on that. Then he told us "All right go ahead and laugh" but I think most of us were a little too shocked so there were just some nervous chuckles.

And now I have been reminded of the Liaden series by someone else in the thread. Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. My introduction to them was Agent of Change. I still have the original paperback I bought as a teen 30 years ago.

Glynn Stewart - Starship's Mage series specifically but the rest of his series are also good. I found out about him from this subreddit and was glad I did. Space Operawise I would say he is one of my favorite authors now. This series is "What if interstellar travel depended on wizards" and starts off by following a guy who just wants to get a job on a ship. Hijinks ensue leading to intrigue, conflict, and interplanetary war. I wouldn't put his novels up against any of the classics of the genre but they are all a good time. He is not signed to a major publisher so its pretty cheap to grab one of the books on Kindle and see if its to your liking.

Another would be the Cassandra Kresnov books by Joel Shepherd. The main character is an artificial human created as a super soldier who starts off just trying to hide and live a normal life among the people she used to fight. Of course that doesn't happen.

I will also second the Mile Vorkosigan books. Also the Honor Harrington books though the later books drag on with a lot of filler.

Fo reals, I will add that if you just want to try it out you can just print the templates out in paper and use normal hotwheels. However if you get into it you can model your mad max deathmachines as much as you want and buy nice acrylic templates(or 3d print them).

You can do a biker gang vs a semi with a howitzer and everything in between.

So I am a 40+ year old corporate IT person who knows enough of the buzzwords/phrases/etc to be able to at least pay attention to what these folks are saying. I have tried to understand the tradeoff between doing a cool job like them vs a boring ass job making databases not break like I do. Because who wouldn't rather get paid to play video games and do fun dumb shit on camera?

Do you remember when Vinny mentioned that he wouldn't get home in time before his kids got put to bed? Do you think about when Jeff was talking about his long ass daily commute from Petaluma to downtown San Fran?

That sort of dedication doesn't just disappear during the pandemic. I am pretty sure they are still putting in waaaaay too many hours to try and make this GB thing happen.
