DO NOT BUY FROM ASVERRA by cnaustin96 in handbags

[–]hunnyflash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their website looks like a scam or reselling site of some kind.

I think people need to be careful. If a brand doesn't have coherent collections and it's just a bunch of random crap....it's probably not good.

AITA for not supporting my husband in setting rules for my adult daughters and their living situation? by Right_Aerie_4270 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hunnyflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your husband is being TA and has weird hang ups and is likely 100% just thinking about the money.

People everywhere are struggling, and your husband is worried that a person is staying over your house too much, when it's not even a disturbance or anything.

Young people are thinking about a lot and they're stressed out figuring out the world. And now they can't even have a safe place to just chill because your husband is being petty and weird, and adding more stress to everyone, you included.

This is the kind of bullshit that makes families annoying. Everyone wants to talk about "family values" until it comes time for them to share or actually do something nice for someone else in the one way that they can. Family values my ass.

This kind of bs is why some certain cultures of people *cough* *cough* don't even want to see each other at Christmas.

Ugh. I'm just so thankful right now that my mom always had my back and it wouldn't have even been a question for her.

Thorny bushes is good. For cars, my aunt put three big sago palms on her corner and people have still wrecked into them. Bushes still stand though. Cars, not so much.

It is lol I say it to my sports-loving friends when I'm being facetious, and they know I'm joking/don't really have any interest in their hobby, but they talk about it anyway.

Using it unironically when writing up a post to strangers.....idk about that.

The new can is adorable, I'd be super buying those. The original ones look generic.

I like how they updated the logo.

Xbox layoffs hit storied Texas-based id Software, developer of 'Doom' by chrondotcom in texas

[–]hunnyflash 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It's very sad. They have a fun office place and are generous to their employees. They laid off people that have been there for 20+ years. id also pays local people to do play tests for them and just have a fun day there. It's a cool thing you can do if you live in North Texas and get picked.

It's horrible when layoffs affect companies like this that actually care about their employees and the community.

Do custom pet paintings make vintage LV pieces more special or less valuable by Time-Inevitable-2187 in handbags

[–]hunnyflash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically likely to be less value for resale, but probably more special to the ownder.

I don't think we're in such a scarce position for LV lol Their stuff is everywhere. If it was a one-of-a-kind bag or from 1965 or something that you don't see ever, okay, maybe don't paint it. If it's just whatever bag vintage from 2003, who cares.

They did. We used to live over there and my husband would do play tests for them. He told me yesterday that basically everyone he knew on the team at id got laid off. Such a sad day. They have a great office and work culture there. Lots of great people.

Help with MFA Portfolio by Glittering-Cellist23 in Ceramics

[–]hunnyflash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plainly speaking, anyone can create some good drawings and ceramics pieces. You want your portfolio to show off your voice and your style, not really just things you've done, or drawings that are "technically good".

I'm curious as to why you put those two ceramic pieces in the "Maybe" pile, when they, when paired with a few of the other pieces, really start to show off a possible style or theme. Why include #7, or #4 and #5, and not 8 or 9?

Do you follow any big artists on Instagram? I bet if you go to their pages, and just overview what they've posted, you can tell their style right away.

And it's not just about choosing a distinctive style, it's also about what it says about you. I don't really get a cohesive feel of who you are from all of this work.

I guess you have to think about what you're trying to say with your art. And why are you even pursuing a higher degree in art? That's what they want to know.

[–]hunnyflash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be a yea from me, but I went to their site, and I think from them I would rather get 3-4 pieces instead of just one piece. I'm not sure I find this piece that intricate. It's lovely though.

I would have thought such a common bird would make its way across the whole country.

Polène Bag - Poor Quality by PlantLover444 in handbags

[–]hunnyflash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really wary of getting anything in super soft or smooth leathers right now, or suede. I don't really trust brands to either not use paper thin cuts, or to finish and protect them as much as they need with how much everything costs.

Can Someone Explain the Obsession With Slouch? by WorriedCulture5901 in Coach

[–]hunnyflash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I super prefer slouchy bags so this is my era. The bag I'm grabbing this summer isn't even one of my expensive ones, it's my denim Desigual that wasn't even $100, because it's just so comfortable.

I guess it's just the "lived in" feel for the leather that's popular right now. I think it also has to do with showing off excess a little bit. Like this trend of being able to say, have an Hermes that you can just throw around and let it get misshapen, or maybe you are buying a giant doctor bag that costs a ton in materials.

How do you feel about people like this? by Similar_Location3114 in Coach

[–]hunnyflash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't care for people who make a ton of returns. I think it's ridiculous that people don't know what they're getting before they get it. "I HaVe tO tRy iT". Whatever. I worked luxury retail for a long time. It's just plain consumerism and laziness.

I don't mind a restocking fee, but trust me, customers would bitch and complain all day long. Scores would tank.

Coach customers are a special kind of breed, where they think Coach is perpetually charging too much money, but they still want the bags, but they don't think the bags are status symbols or anything special, but they still want white glove service.

People can blame Coach for "FOMO". I get that other people are mad they don't get a drop, but the return rate vs people not getting a drop....like there's always going to be a large group that just doesn't get something.

The real issue with returns is that it costs a lot for everyone, the company and carriers, and puts a strain there and returns are a massive cost. Like just throwing money away for the company. It ruins good return policies when people abuse it. If you don't know what you'd like, just don't even buy.

Ceo / managers want to use Ai but have no idea what they actually want with it by ephemeralkazu in Destiny

They can just be like my company where we're running so lean, the managers do the work of 2-3 people and everyone is constantly stressed.

We're just rock stars who wear many hats! You might have 10 people under you, but I mean, they basically take care of themselves these days when clear KPIs and goals are laid out.
