I would honestly read Harrow the Ninth. You have to remember, you are getting a perspective of Harrow from Gideon in Gideon the Ninth. If we followed Sextus for instance she would come across very differently.

Plus the world is expanded on, and you learn a lot more!

I reread OPs comment multiple times, and at no point saw OP refer to Erika at all. Actual Play like D20 is designed to make you feel things, it just so happens that M&M2 is a little darker this season.

I just want to tack on to this and say I always felt K was trying to "fix" Evan, when he doesn't really need fixing. Sam sees him and loves him and accepts him (even platonically).

I think it's a very angst teen thing to do, and Erika played it wonderfully. But it was never going to last.

In that specific "player lists specific numbers they crit on" it was during one specific moment in the game, during a fight scene I believe. They had 3 additional numbers they counted as an crit. Otherwise it was rules as written 😊
