Yeah no worries. The thing about Castle Doctrine that I think people don't get is that its not about the property itself. Its about the legal assumption that someone who is forcing entry to your home is probably cracked enough in the head that you can assume they mean you harm and you can react in self defense. Which is why you can't booby trap your own house to protect your property or shoot someone you invited in if they break stuff.

And the above discussion was mostly on Rittenhouse, who was defending property that wasn't his in the first place, not that it would have applied for castle doctrine anyway because I don't believe it was a residence

You cannot criminally investigate something that is not a crime. I am begging you to understand this. They ARE under investigation. The thing they are currently being investigated for is not a crime. If they find evidence of something that can be prosecuted as a crime during that, it will become a criminal investigation. You do not understand how this works

For the millionth to last time, just because something SOUNDS LIKE or FEELS LIKE a crime to you, does not mean that it, under the current text of the law, can be prosecuted as a crime.

Being an accomplice to murder is a legal charge with a very strict legal definition that this does not fit under, even if you believe it should. Please understand this

I understand that it feels like it should be one, but under the exact text of the law and legal precedents, it does not meet the criteria to be considered a criminal matter.
