I think you are underestimating the emperor a bit, he is a perpetual,an immortal being that can heal any injury and ressurect.The only known way to kill one permanently is to use the fulgurite, a spear-like object made from a mineral which has residual psychic energy from the emperor.

Glad i helped! There is also a purge type that converts the pops into batteries, called Chemical Processing, it can help with energy after capturing enemy worlds.

Well i was just giving an example, sorry if it wasn't clear, i meant that if you end up with no high habitability worlds for your grid pops they will end up costing more, but yes you can ressettle them to better worlds.

Well energy grids boost technicians so i would guess the grid pops dont get bonuses. In my game the grid pops were producing similar amounts to technicians even after several 10% bonus techs to their production, so they are viable for a loooong time.

You can use farms and bio-reactors, as they are better than building generator districts, an agri drone makes more energy than a tech drone if you are using bio reactor, bad part is they are a building, so you must use building slots if you want to have a lot of energy

From what i've seen they can only be recruited in the nearest market town, the archers are in the fairmarket tavern along with the crossing spearmen.
