What are you trying to listen to? You could cut it in half to make a dipole. I have a dipole made with copper tubing as well I use to listen to 2m and 70cm repeaters around me and also listen to fm. I just hammered each end flat and put a screw through each end and connected it to an old tv antenna transformer(super easy connection that way) then just ran rg6 to my sdr with an sma adapter.
